Adjuster Groups Response • Jul 21, 2020

Thanks for the review Jezel,

We strive to work for our community!

I want to present this complain because I received to denials and non-review in my policy due to this company lack of professionalism and bad services
We, *** and ***, residing at*** Our home is insured by *** with policy number 1*** On January 11th, 2020, we signed a contract with Adjuster Groups LLC with two claims (FL20-0101895 Windstorm in the Roof and FL 20-01011474 Water Damage in the Kitchen).
Adjuster Groups LLC sent an estimator to take photos of the damages mentioned above. After their visit, Universal Insurance sent their adjuster from Alder Adjuster. After a few days, Adjuster Group LLC told us to go to their office to sign a document named Sworn Proof of Loss, which needs to be signed in front of a notary. When we started to sign, there was no notary present and they told us they will send a copy of this document which it was never received.
A few days after, the estimator of Adjuster Groups called to informed us that the pictures they took the first time were damaged and they needed to come back to take them again which was done.
On 01/21/2020 we received a letter from Alder Adjusting (Universal Insurance) with a copy sent to Adjuster Groups as well, telling us they were some paperwork missing for claim FL20-0101474, according to Section I of the policy. Immediately we contacted Adjuster Groups LLC informing them about the letter and we were told they will take care of sending the missing documents.
After a few more days, we received another call from Adjuster Groups LLC telling us the estimator needed to come back to take pictures for the third time because the photo machine damaged the pictures.
The situation was strange and irresponsible from Adjuster Groups LLC. Then, we started to make unsuccessful calls to them for a month regarding our claims.
On 03/06/2020 we received another letter from Alder Adjusting (Universal) with a copy sent to Adjuster Groups as well, telling us they were also missing some paperwork for claim FL20-0101895. We try to communicate with Adjuster Groups LLC, but we were not successful.
On April 11th, 2020 we received an email from the Alder Adjusting (Universal) informing us that claim FL20-0101474 was denied because the documents needed were not received.
On April 14th we received another email from Alder Adjusting (Universal) informing us that the other claim FL20-0101895 was also denied because they did not receive the needed documents.
On April 22nd, 2020 being impossible the communication with Adjuster Groups LLC, we sent an email to the owner of Adjuster Groups, Mrs. Maileny V, where due to their ineptitude, we immediately request a Contract Release, without receiving any response back as of today.
On April 24th, we received a letter from Universal Property &Casualty Insurance Company informing us that they will not renew our policy on March 25th, 2021 because of our history claims and the situation mentioned above.
And finally on May 1st. I went personally to the office of Adjuster Groups to talk with Maileny V the owner, to request the Contract Release and she reluctantly told me she couldn't do that. that I should call the Public Adjuster who takes my case. An Adjuster that I never saw before since they sent a female adjuster the first day to take my signature on a empty contract which later they sent me filled by mail. On 04/05/2020 I called the Public Adjuster Jose E and he did not answer, on the second attempt he answered and hung up saying that he would call me back that he was on a call then hours later, Mr. Jose E called me and I requested the cancellation of the contract with them. He told me that they would send my case to a lawyer and I said no, he told me in a bad way that he would mail the release to me and I offer him to get it personally to the office and I would sign an acknowledgment of receipt and he said in a bad way that he will send it by mail.

Desired Outcome

We will be grateful if Revdex.com help us to get a Contract Release and permanently dissociate ourselves from Adjuster Groups LLC for all damages and breach of its obligations to its customers. They where supposed to assumes our representation and thanks to them our insurance company denial our claims and will not renew our policy. We never have a complaint with Universal Property and we called Universal on 05/04/2020 and they will not reñiré our policy because they failed to sustain our claim not sending the required documentation.

Contact Name and Title: Maileny V owner
Contact Phone: 407 747-0543
Contact Email: maileny.v***@gmail.com
My name is Maileny V I am the supervising Adjuster and part of Owner of Adjuster Groups. Mr.s and Mrs. are current clients of our offices. Mr.s was visited by an ex-employee apprentice from our office for an inspection at this time she inspected his property and determined there were two valid claims with Mr.. The ex apprentice employee should have explained the procedure to Mr. and per my conversation with him she did. In the mists of the COVID The ex-employee was let go from our company because an injunction was placed on her prohibiting entrance to our office from a co-worker for harrassment and violence, I personally spoke to Mr. to advise him of the situation and to let him know a that his adjuster would be Jose E R. I also went through the procedures with him and I advised him of the documents required from him in order to proceed with the claim. Unfortunately Mr. claims were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic because all staff from both our offices and the insurance were minimized for the protection of the public and staff. Mr. came to our office to sign a Proof of loss and I am the notary and the supervising adjuster meaning that I am always in the office to supervise my staff and notarize documents when needed. Prior to sending the documents to Mr. and upon reviewing the estimate in order to properly service Mr. claims, I noticed that there was information not documented and I wanted for the estimator to revise his estimate and pictures prior to us submitting this to the carrier. Our office and estimator advised him of the changes that needed to take place. We also advised that the camera did not capture the pictures properly and that further pictures were required. Mr. has a duty and obligation to his insurance carrier that he selected and to this claim to present any required documentations so we could properly service his claim this being one of them, the second being a sworn Proof of Loss. He was fine with this at the time. Mr. mentions Alder Adjusting which is the servicing firm hired by his insurance carrier. The adjuster handling the claim has had constant communication with me and my office in regards to the claims and Mr. has not contacted him directly even after I provided him the number. I told him that the adjuster was more than willing to speak with him regarding the claim. I provided the number and he did not call the adjuster stating that this is our job, although he previously told me that he contacted the carrier. Mr. received request of documents which I spoke to him about and advised him that we had already submitted those documents and that the letters received during the time of the COVID-19 may not be current. Mr. states he has tried making contact with our office for months yet our call logs shows all calls with our offices and constant communication with him aside from the fact that we have only serviced his claims for less than 90 days and that 90 days is the processing time frame the insurance carrier has to make a decision in coverage. He stated to me that the only person he was unable to reach from the beginning of his claim was the ex employee. We advised Mr. that upon the review of his estimate and per the request of his carrier we would need him to resign the Proof of Loss document since then Mr. has not signed this pertinent document in order to get his claims processed. Mr. contacted my office I spoke to him directly and advised him that we had done our job and that I explained the terms of the contract to him already. I advised him that the adjuster who signed his claim would contact him with 24hours and provided a direct number for him. Within 5 minutes after this conversation Mr. called Jose E R over 30 times back to back at this point Mr. R had picked up the phone 3 times advising him that he was on a conference call and would be unavailable for a while but that he would call him when he was available but Mr*** continued to call. Mr. claims were not denied they have a failure to comply on behalf of the client I will attach the notice from the carrier for your review. If Mr. signed a blank document as he states he did, that would have been his and the apprentices fault because we received this document in our office executed by him and the apprentice set forth all his information. The ex-employee was not licensed to sign documents as she was an apprentice that is why either me or Jose E R review the claim prior to accepting it. We did hung up the call at one point with Mr. because Mr. would not stop calling even after we explained why Mr. R was unable to pick up his call at the time and after getting irate. I told Mr. in our office that if Mr. R signed a release I would send it to him but that it is upto the adjuster and based on his contract he had no merrit to get a release of contract. Our contract stipulates that clients have 3 days to get a release from the contract and that a request to cancel the contract must be received via certified mail to our offices as stipulated by the rules and regulations of the Department of Finance. Mr. R told him we would contact the Insurance carrier and upon updating the insurance and his claim if merrited we would give him the release and it would be sent via mail as this is how we are directed to do. We confirmed and advised him that all documents were submitted and the only failure to comply with required documents was from him. At this time we are rejecting Mr*** request to be released from this contract due to the fact that he is not considering the work performed by our offices and the fact that he is failing to mention that the reason his Insurance Policy is being non-renewed is because after speaking to the ex-employee he filed another water damage claim now this being 3 claims on his property. This is part of the reason for them to non-renew his policy. He filed this 3rd claim with the Ex-Employee who is now employeed with another firm and under violation of a non-compete agreement with our office. I advised Mr *** he should consider who is honestly working and seeking the best interest of him the client not the interest of writing a claim for the purpose of a commmision. The adjuster that went to this home from the Insurance carrier did not see any damages on the date of inspection in March and has advised me that on this date he did a thorough inspection of the entire home. It is my belief that Mr. is taking bad advise from someone who has been in the industry for a very little time and has no problems placing excessive claims. This ex-employee has contacted many of our clients along with Mr. in attempts to get them to get a release from us in hopes that she would be able to represent them. She fails to mention in doing so the client would be subject to both commissions this is a violation to our ethical obligations. These claims will be settled shortly if Mr. complies with the insurance carriers request. He needs to sign the required documents and have them notarized. I personally called Mr. and advised him of this today to keep him up to date on his claim and advise him that we are refusing to give him release. I hope that Mr. understands that we are here to work for him not to hinder on his claim. Mr. should probably first review the persons he is doing work with. We have been with the Revdex.com with an A rating and we plan on keeping our rating high because we value Revdex.com and the work we do. The Florida Department of finance offers a website in which consumers could look up Public Adjusters Licenses and see what the true status of the licensee is, I suggest Mr*** reviews the licenses of the people he is working with including my office so that he can review experience and qualifications of any adjuster he works with. I have been in the insurance and contractors industry for over 20 years.

Consumer Affairs Representative

As you notify me, I have reviewed the comment made regarding this claim by Ms. Maileny V, Adjuster and owner of Adjuster Groups and I have sincerely been surprised by the amount of expletives related to my case and I'm answering before may 29 to continue with my petition of Contract Relase from Adjuster Groups.
1. I never spoke personally with Mrs. Maileny V and I didn't even receive a call from Adjuster Groups to inform me that Mrs. Mari I R, whom she mentions as "the ex-employee", had stopped working in Adjuster Groups. I found out from Mrs. Mari I R herself, who had the attention to call me and then personally visit me at my home to communicate what had happened.
2. Mrs. Maileny V did not carry out any formalities with me and did not inform me about the documents required to proceed with the claim, everything related to information and required documents was handled by Mrs. Mari I R who also at that time she told me that I had to go through the Adjuster Groups offices with my wife to sign the Proof of Loss document. The only person who attended us in Adjuster Groups was Mrs. April C, with whom we signed the Proof of Loos document and who was never blank as Mrs. Maileny V mentions, only I said in my previous statement, that this document must have been signed before a notary public, who was not present at the time of signing; On that visit nobody introduced me to Mrs. Maileny V nor did I have any idea who she was. In addition, Mrs. April C gave us copies of the claims estimates and that was our entire visit to the offices of Adjuster Groups.
3. Mrs. Maileny V mentions that she noticed that there was undocumented information and wanted the estimator to review the estimate and photos before sending it to the bearer, and that her office and estimator informed me of the changes that should take place. Also that I was informed that the camera did not capture the images correctly and that more images were needed. No one ever called me from the Adjuster Groups to make any changes, the only call I received is from a man named Allan, who informed me that the first pictures had not gone well and that he needed to take them again and he did, after a few days he called me again for the same problem and I needed to take them a third time, I consider that taking photographs three times for the same reason is already negligent and very unprofessional in his work, I also mentioned this in my previous statement.
4. Mrs. Maileny V says that the adjuster for Alder Adjusting, a service company hired by the insurance company, has had constant communication with her and her office regarding claims and that I have not contacted him directly even after that he gave me the number. First, she did not give me the number and, Second, if she has constant communication with the adjuster, why should I call him?, if I have signed a contract to represent me, it is totally implausible that apart from all the problem created I have to worry about of these cases and do the work that corresponds to Adjuster Groups. This clearly demonstrates work ineptitude in handling my cases and that is the main reason I am requesting a Contract Release.
5. Mrs. Maileny V, affirms that I received a request for documents, I repeat. The only document I received at their offices was the copy of the estimates that Mrs. April C gave me, no one ever contacted me to inform me that they had submitted documents and that the letters received during the time of COVID-19 may not be current and I have never said that the only person that I have not been able to contact has been Mrs. Mari I R On the contrary, the only person who has helped me and who has been in constant contact with me has been Mrs. Mari I R, thanks to her I have been able to know everything that was happening.
6. At the beginning of April, I went to the offices of the Adjuster Groups, to personally request the Contract Release, and they passed me with a lady who said her name was Maileny V and it was at that moment that for the first time I learned of her existence, she identified herself as the co-owner of Adjuster Groups and we had a very unpleasant conversation for me, because of the way to address a client, I confess that I also spoke very upset because the insurance company had rejected the two claims and also had canceled my policy, which that Adjuster Groups never warned me, I only found out from the correspondence received from the insurance company, at that time she told me that she could not do anything regarding the Contract Release and that I should speak to Mr. José E R, also co-owner of Adjuster Groups (later I knew it was her husband) and who was the person who was handling my case now, it was at that moment that I found out that my case was now being handled by this person, never they informed me about it, I tried to talk to Mr. José E R, but he was not in the office, they gave me his phone number and they told me that he would contact me in 24 hours, which he never did and that is where all the supposed 30 calls begin that Mrs. Maileny V mentions and of which she has her records. Below I inform you of the call log and of which I send you an attachment so that they can be verified.
April 3, three calls to the number of Adjuster Groups 407-201.7699, in the last of these three, I was contacted by Mr. José E R who briefly told me that he would call me back because he was busy at the time.
After 24 days waiting for the call and without receiving any information, I decided to insist on the phone;
April 27, two calls to the Adjuster Groups number 407-201.7699 (no answer)
April 28, three calls to the Adjuster Groups number 407-201.7699 (no answer)
Since I did not get any answer or return calls and having spent almost a month; on May 01 I made 5 calls to the Adjuster Groups phone 407-201.7699 and five calls to the phone of Mr. José E R 407-750.0401 leaving him a message emphasizing the irresponsibility of his work due to the number of unanswered calls.
On May 05, at 11; 16 am. I finally received a call from the number 407-750-0401 from Mr. José E R, where he informed me that they agreed to give me the Contract Release, that they would send it to me by mail, I immediately told him that I could come to his offices to look for it, but I he replied that he would mail it to me so that there would be evidence of having received it, I told him that I could sign at his offices but he insisted on sending it to me by mail. Nothing ever came in the mail from them.
On Monday May 18, at 5:18 pm. I receive a call from the number 407-750.0461 from Mrs. Maileny V, and she says that they will not give me the Contract Release because the Adjuster Groups had done the work and that the insurance company already had an offer and that they would call me on Wednesday 20 to inform me of the amount, then she told me that it would be during the week, that is, until Friday 22, obviously, as expected, I did not receive any calls.
7. Mrs. Maileny V mentions that they are rejecting the Contract Release request because I am not considering the work done by their offices and I wonder which job, if on 11/04/20 I received a statement from the insurance company where they inform me that Claim #*** was rejected for not being able to verify the claim due to the lack of previously requested documents and on 04-14-20 I receive another statement from the same insurance company, they also inform me that the other Claim #*** was also rejected for the same reason and finally on 04/24/20 I received a letter from the insurance company informing me that my insurance policy was cancelled due to the history of claims. Obviously the bad claims made by Adjuster Groups.
Mrs. Maileny V also mentions that the reason why my insurance policy is not renewed or cancelled is because after speaking with Mrs. Mari I R (ex-employee, as she mentions), I filed another claim for water damage, now they are 3 claims on my property, and that this is part of the reason why they do not renew my policy, well I will tell you the following and you will notice the ineptitude of Adjuster Groups, My policy was cancelled dated 04/24/20 due to the mishandling of claims by Adjuster Groups and the new claim due to a flood that I had in my house is dated 04/28/20, so how can Mrs. Maileny V affirm that due to this third claim that was made after the cancellation of the policy is one of the reasons for suspending the policy, again the incompetence in the case is demonstrated.
8. And finally, to verify what Mrs. Maileny V told me, about the payment offer that the Insurance would offer me in the week of May 18 to 22, I called the insurance company directly today May 26 to ask about the status of Claims #*** and #***, and I spoke with Mrs. Cindy M who informed me that those claims were in the same reported situation, as they had requested documents that the Adjuster Groups did not send, definitely I no longer accept more tricks of Adjuster Groups.

Dear Mrs., Consumer Affairs Representative, for all the aforementioned and the evidence presented, I very cordially request you to obtain the Contract Release from Adjuster Groups,

As evidences I attach the following in a second email
Call record
Policy cancellation letter.
Should you need anything additional please let me know

Adjuster Groups Response • Jun 12, 2020

At this point Mr.s has been made aware of our involvement on his claim. Our offices have been consistently in contact with him to get the claim settlemd. We have advised him of possible settlement offers and have attributed to gettin g the claim settled he has been trying to receive himself of his obligations. He stated that he has not spoke. to me yet I have records from my personal number and the company number where we have spoke and conversations in my office are monitored for quality assurance. In the case that the records are required. I also have my records of calls from my work cell phone number. Mr.s reasoning is just that he wants to get a release of contract we have done our job on a timely manner he's hasn't done his part and I have forwarded this to both the carrier and to The department of Finance as he has attempted to file a complaint against me and the company through the state. Mr***s was presented an offer which he was never told he had to accept he straight denied. He is not only not cooperating with what's expected from him by the carrier but what he's is expected from our company and is has been told to him. He stated that we promised him an amount that is false he states that he contacted the carrier he has a designated adjuster which he has never spoke to. At this point his only reasoning for an expection of release from is not not pay our commissions I advised the insurer of the expected amount by the client and they are working on attempting to settle if he does not accept this amount it's only becuase he is looking to harm the. Name of our company. We have attempted to be reasonable with him and speak with him but at this point he is only seeking to make false statements of which I have proof of our job and is solely seeking benefit from his carrier which is not legal he is not supposed to benefit he is supposed to use any claims payments for repairs only please advise if you need any further information from me. Today I received a call from Mr***s stating that he ws willing to accept the amount offered and thanking me for helping him solve the claim. I will always work s hard as possible for my client and will provide the highest service possible even if the statements being made are false. Mrs. R is not even an adjuster she is an apprentice and I told Mr.s of that. She has no experience only opinions , I gave him the information provided directly from his carrier not from an opinion. I spoke to his examiner and ws advised that he is being dropped after the 3rd claim. We do not control the way the carrier does business so if they chose to cancel or non- renew his policy it was not do to any fault of our company.

Excellent customer service, always communicating with us honestly and professional. They get all the process done very smooth for us and at the end everything went thru in our favor. Highly recommend and will work with them again anytime.

Thanks so much for the review Mrs., we appreciate your business and are here to serve.
