Revdex.com spoke to David at business and the following was relayed: Currently, the consumer has the temporary number and we have sent him a copy of the non-dispute form requested for him to sign and return. Once returned and received he will get his permanent number.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Adkad Technologies has not denied to process an address change for Mr. [redacted]. He was simply given the option to update to a newer version of the software. Here is a copy of the last email correspondence we had with Mr. [redacted] Dated 10/30/2017 at 3:47 PM EST. in response to his address change...

request.   "[redacted] v6.3.2 is an outdated product and is no longer supported. There are also compatibility issues if you are running Windows 10. You can update to version 7.0.4 for only $130. Please call us at the number below and let us know how you would like to proceed. "  We have not received a response from Mr. [redacted] regarding how he would like to proceed, nor have we received any new forms or documentation regarding an address change. In response to the other statements made in the original complaint, Mr. [redacted] states that he has been blocked from using the software. Again this is simply not true. As outlined in the on screen error message documentation when a user enters a new address, "Simply put the old address back to what it was before you received the error." There is no permanent lock out.   Our registration process is clearly outlined in the End User License Agreement (EULA) as well as other documentation throughout the registration process. Our registration process allows the software to be used on multiple computers without having to purchase multiple copies for new or additional computers, being that it is registered to a person, and not to a computer, as is many other software products. This process not only protects our company from software piracy but also protects the end user from theft of their company data from their employees. About 15% of the address change requests that are processed turn out to be fraudulent due mainly to a partnership breakup, or from a former employee who has decided to start their own business. In this scenario the person making the request, poses as the registered user to be able to change the company info to their own. We can only verify that the person making the request is the actual registered user by requiring supporting documentation as proof. The overwhelming majority of end users prefer this type of registration to protect their data and to avoid having to pay for the same software product multiple times.  The $25 fee we charge, recovers only a portion of the actual labor and material costs associated with issuing a new registration number, IE. Printing, mailing, postage, and correspondence. The $10 fee Mr. [redacted] is referring to is from a form included with the original software. Again this form comes from an outdated unsupported product. Adkad Technologies reserves the right as outlined in the EULA to change prices without notice.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I believe there may be a miscommunication. I sent in my address request form and supporting documentation. The company notified me that the cost had increased from $10 to $25. The company directed me to a new form. I sent a new form with my new address, supporting documentation, and payment information. It was at this time that they told me that my software was no longer supported. I interpreted this to mean that I could no longer change my address, thus prompting my complaint. I was willing to pay the $25 fee when I sent in this second form, as I had included my payment information. I do not wish to update my software as it is working fine, but I do want to pay the $25 fee and update my address.

We have contacted Mr. [redacted] on 5/17/2016 and installed a beta version of the new software update on his computer to correct the problem he was having. As a show of good faith we had refunded $130.00 on 1/27/2016 which was the total amount for the software update he purchased on 6/21/2015. We had...

also given him free paper products valued at $40 for his inconvenience. To the best of our knowledge, Mr. [redacted] is satisfied with our latest response.
