In August of 2019, we took our Jeep Patriot to Adkins Auto to be worked on. The ABS light, 4x4 light, and traction control light came on. They told us it was the right rear wheel speed sensor and also the wheel bearing. They said they replaced both. Charged us $217. In February of 2020, the lights came back on. We took the vehicle to the Jeep dealership. They told us it was the right rear wheel speed sensor. We told them that it had just been changed a few months prior. However, they changed it and found out it was still the original. We went to Adkins to try to figure out what happened but they did not want to cooperate with us. Wouldn’t provide a receipt when we asked.
In reference to the complaint ***, on August 2, 2019 one wheel sensor and one wheel bearing were replaced on the black Jeep. With the volume of repairs, and time lapse, in would be impossible for our employees to remember details of each customer. When this customer called our business with their complaint, they could not provide their copy of the receipt they were provided with at the time of payment, so demanded that we pull a copy to provide them another. It was explained to them, our copies are not instantly available. We did agree that their vehicle was worked on at our garage, and without requiring the receipt, asked them to bring the vehicle in so that we could inspect, discuss and determine what error might have happened. Our intention was to make this right to the best as possible. They chose to not bring the vehicle back to our garage. We have since pulled our copy of their receipt (copy attached) and found they were charged for one ABS sensor, and one wheel bearing, both installed. Without the reinspection at our garage, there is no more we can do. Ours is a local family owned business for nearly 40 years, our reputation and lack of history of complaints should speak for itself of our desire to serve our customers well.
