Revdex.com7007 Jefferson St. NE Suite A Albuquerque, NM 87109Re: [redacted]. [redacted] Case # [redacted]Mr. [redacted] stayed at the Adobe Inn in Durango, CO, on the night of August 23, 2015. He rented a non-smoking King suite room #[redacted]. He and his companion left and checked out the...

following morning. At about 10:00 AM on the day of departure, the room attendant asked. the front desk agent, the maintenance manager and the general manager to come to the room. Once there, all parties could smell the strong odor of marijuana smoke in the room. A second room attendant also concurred. The room had a very strong smell of burning pot.The general manager called the [redacted] party and left a message on their cell phone that we would be charging their credit card of record $200.00 for smoking in a non-smoking room. It was also clearly pointed out that the smell was marijuana. The front desk received several calls later that evening from the [redacted] party about the charge. The following morning the general manager returned a call to the [redacted] party. Her call set off a flurry of calls from the [redacted]s with threats, screaming and innuendoes from the [redacted]s. She admitted to hanging up on the [redacted]s, but admits it was probably on the fifth call in a 20 minute span and maybe the sixth as well. There was no communication after the first few seconds of the first call—just screaming, yelling and threats. They have also threatened to contact the owner of the Adobe Inn to fight further on this matter, but since the managers have worked for him for 8 years and he is a staunch member of the Republican religious-right, and actively opposed to Colorado's new marijuana legalization, we certainly don't expect much of a different response. We do, after all, work for him.A total of 5 people concurred that the room smelled like pot was smoked there. The [redacted]s state they were unaware that we charged their card until they saw it on their statement. That is not true. We called them before their card was charged at 10:18 AM on the morning of our departure. We had to leave a message on voice mail. They were, of course, traveling. They returned our call regarding the charge with a vengeance starting after 4:30 PM on the day of their departure and through out the night up to the next day. Obviously, that message was received, having been confirmed an estimated 12-15 times over the next 24 hours by phone calls from the [redacted] party. We have included a copy of their contract. Please note the times of the transactions and the highlighted areas, especially over their signatures. The 'No Smoking " warning is simple, specific, and clearly initialed by Mr. [redacted]. We have also included a written warning posted at each station of the front desk about our position on smoking in non-smoking rooms, and also on marijuana,We wish to also point out that none of the paperwork regarding the complaint from Revdex.com shows the [redacted] party denying using pot in our non-smoking room, only that we charged them for it. We did give them notice of the charge, and Mr. [redacted] initialed his knowledge and acceptance of that charge Wand when it happened. Since Mr. [redacted] has launched a "scorched Earth" approach to this matter and we expect it to continue from his threats, we frankly have no reason to amend our policies for him in anyway. We have done nothing that Mr, [redacted] wasn't aware of 'before the fact. For the sake of any lingering questions, the $200.00 fine is used to mitigate the cost of carpet, upholstery, and drapery cleaning and other measures to attempt to restore the room to a nonsmoking quality. Although this was done by our staff, the following rental guest that night did, in fact, complain about the smell in the room upon checking in that evening. He was told what had happened and probably would be happy to contribute if we need him to corroborate, since he was clearly miffed about it. That guest is the main reason we try to deter smoking in a, non-smoking room. Rarely is the next guest in a violated room happy with the previous guest's vandalism. It is not uncommon for us to discount a room under these circumstances, which brings us back to the $200.00 fine again. Please feel free to contact us further if there be a need, The Adobe Inn is a very popular and nice place to visit here in Durango and we are doing our best to keep it that way for the vast majority of our guests.SincerelyManagementAdobe InnDurango, CO 81301
