Review: This is a recap of experience with Krueger and Co. to fix a running toilet bowl and a separate toilet that was leaking First visit serviceman adjusted the plunger in the running toilet bowl in about 15 minutes no problem with that. Work on the second toilet was a disaster after trying to evaluate did something said fixed might leak slightly for a little bit Not so continued leaking as prior to the visit called back again could not fix another company man sent put something part in but you are going to need a new toilet. Asked Krueger to give quotes on new toilet price was in the 375 range with insulation like 359 without This of course did not include labor to do. We said this is crazy for cost of a toilet and what are we going to be charged for what you have done already which was only address the running bowl in about 15 minutes The answer was 293.78 (which invoice already received the same day we told them we would have to go with someone else because we could not bear those kind of cost. We also want to surface you never no what costs you are going to incur until after the fact You are asked to sign work order by serviceman with no pricing and then the Krueger office applies the charges. This policy cannot be consistent with good business practice. Several years ago we were surprised by this same company when the first toilet we reference needed to be replaced the next thing we knew we had a bill for 560.42 to replace the toilet I will be happy to send copies of these service orders if you would like. The bottom line on this when another plumber was involved he fixed the leaking toilet in less than an hour and the total cost all in was $150We appreciate anything you can do to help us in this matter.Desired Settlement: We feel that the only constructive work Kreuger Co. did was fixing the running toilet bowl by adjust the water level. All of which was done in fifteen minutes. We are sure their position is they made two additional visits to justify this 293.78 none of which resulted in solution to our problem. What we believe to be fair and are willing to pay is 1/2 hour labor for the work on the 2nd Floor toilet From there current invoice we would assume this would be $90 versus 293.76

On 1/9/14 our service plumber went to the [redacted] residence and adjusted the water level on one toilet, which resolved that toilet's problem. Regarding the second toilet; our plumber found that there was actually water spraying out of the back of the toilet tank and running onto the floor. Our technician showed this to Mrs. [redacted], as this would explain the water on the floor. He then replaced the fill valve and the toilet supply to rectify this problem. Again, Mrs. [redacted] witnessed this issue with the toilet. (This part was left out of Mr. [redacted] complaint) The cost for this service call was $158.96 - (Labor of $137.50 and materials of $21.46).

Unfortunately, this was not the only issue/reason for the water on the floor, as we received another call about this toilet leaking. At this visit the flange was found to be too high. The Tech pulled the toilet, installed a new flange, wax seal and bolts. This portion of the bill came to $134.82. Our office told the [redacted]s that if this did not work that perhaps there was a non visible hairline crack in the toilet and the toilet should be replaced. We did offer to reduce the total bill from the $293.78 to $177.32 since it looked as though resetting the toilet did not work( but the flange being too high was not right and that needed to be fixed) and it looked as though it would need to be replaced. The [redacted] did not want us to replace the toilet and did not want us to come back so the service calls were billed.

Now, through this complaint I have learned they had another plumber repair the toilet. I would like to know what that plumber found as the problem, as if my plumber missed something I of course would want to know that. I would never want a customer to incur unnecessary costs (replacing a toilet that could be fixed.)

In order to resolve this issue, I am willing to accept $158.96 as this was the cost for the following:

Although this apparently was not the only issue with this toilet, it was a problem that was fixed.

This amount is for two toilet issues that were fixed.

I hope to hear from the [redacted] regarding what it was that the other plumber found as the problem and what he did to fix it.

I believe this is a fair resolution to this matter.
