Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Revdex.com spoke with the consumer and she stated that she had the alterations done and when they finally received the finished product, the alterations were not done correctly. The consumer stated that she stopped payment on the check that was given to the company since she could not go back in since the lady who does the alterations had left. The consumer had to go to another shop to get the alterations redone 3 days before the wedding. The consumer is requesting for the company to not send her to collections.
Regards,

Adonai Alterations has thousands of satisfied customers and we only charge the customer the full amount at the time they receive their garments after the work is done; unlike other alterations that charge the full amount or a deposit up front. The reason for that is because we only want to receive payment after we know that the customer has been satisfied with the work done. [redacted] work was completed as requested by her. She sent her parents to pick up and pay for the items instead of coming to pick them up herself. By doing so, she was not there to try them out and by receiving the garments and paying, she agreed to the terms. [redacted] claims that when she received the items, she was not satisfied and that she called to ask for [redacted] (the owner) but [redacted] wasn’t in the shop so [redacted] made a stop on the payment and hired another alteration shop to make the necessary repairs. However, after confirming with the employee that received [redacted] call, she stated that [redacted] called and asked when [redacted] would be back in the shop and was told that she will be back on Monday. [redacted] did not state that it was an emergency (or the employee would have gladly called [redacted] to come immediately to the shop) and [redacted] could have also explained to the employee the problem and the employee who is skilled could have offered her to do necessary repairs. On top of that, [redacted] did not bother to come to the shop with any of her concerns so that we can take care of any problems. Instead, she made a stop on the payment after she received her completed work. When the check was returned, [redacted] called [redacted] to discuss the matter being unaware that [redacted] was unsatisfied (again, she never bothered to come back with the items but instead, she stopped the check). [redacted] rudely told her that she was unsatisfied with her work. [redacted] asked her to come with the garments and that she will make sure that everything is taken care of. [redacted] refused claiming it was too far from her home. When [redacted] told her that she will require the payment, [redacted] claimed that she hired another alteration and they already did her work. [redacted] asked for a contact info for the alterations to verify that her claims of damage on her garments are valid but [redacted] refused to give her any information. When [redacted] was informed that we will have to pursue collections, [redacted] reported to Revdex.com. Based on the evidence, we strongly believe that [redacted] was hoping to get a free service. If she was truly unsatisfied with any work, she should have come back with the items and showed actual evidence. A simple analogy : If a person is unsatisfied with the work done on their car at a repair shop, they don’t just get in the car and ride it without paying, they go inside and ask to speak for the owner requesting the repairs (with evidence) to be done or a credit. If a person gets in the car and leaves without paying, that is simply illegal. By receiving her garments and making a stop on the payment once received, we believe that [redacted] took an illegal action. Step 1 was to bring her items and show us the problems and if unsatisfied, then she could have filed a complaint requesting refund from Revdex.com or court but that’s not what she did, she simply ran away with her finished work and immediately put a stop on the check. [redacted] failed to come and try the items before paying, she failed to pursue a resolution with the owner, and she failed to go through the legal process of asking for a refund through the court system or a third-party such as Revdex.com. She took the matter into her hands with absolutely no evidence that her statements are true.
Review: Mid July: A wedding gown, reception dress, bridesmaid dress, and tuxedo jacket and pants were left with [redacted] at Adonai Alterations after first confirming that she would be able to handle the entire job in time for our wedding on Aug 23, 2014. She said our clothes would be ready Aug 5. When I received my clothes on Aug 14 (picked up after 5 on Aug13) after twice being told our clothes were not ready, I was devastated and panicked at the condition. No item could be worn due to faulty and negligent work. I called the shop only to be told [redacted] was out of the shop until Monday Aug 18. I placed a stop payment on my check to Adonai Alterations, and did not hear from [redacted] until Aug 20 after she received the returned check. On Aug 21, I paid a 2nd seamstress $315 to complete/repair the work [redacted] was hired to do: wedding gown was hemmed 4 inches (main reason for initial contact with shop) and stain removed (discovered upon pick up from [redacted]), reception gown lace appliques were moved (not done by [redacted], but charged for nevertheless), hem was repaired (very uneven, negligent job by [redacted]), and 2nd stain removed (discovered upon pickup from [redacted]), modesty panel replaced in bridesmaid dress to add the additional 4+inches of material [redacted] failed to add, pants hem repaired on tux pants ([redacted] hemmed one leg as requested by 2 1/4 inch, the other was hemmed 2 1/2 inches). [redacted] warned she would be contact lawyers for the money, and I told her I will gladly face her in court with complete documentation, including pictures, to support my reasoning for cancelling the check. This complaint is in response to collection activity pursued by [redacted].Desired Settlement: I want [redacted] to halt her collections pursuit realizing she was hired for a job that she either failed to complete, and/or provided negligent and/or fraudulent work, and nearly ruined my wedding. If she continues with collection activity, we will need to meet again in court.
