I contacted Tina at Alert Disaster and explained drain pipe leak and that plumber couldnt fix it till mold was removed. Tina and Jason came out next day. I explained I couldn't make a claim with insurance because it was in ex husbands name. They explained work that would be necessary. Pulling out cabinets, drywall, etc..I wanted to cry. Jason started to take a look at area under sink and explained how I could do it myself inexpensively. But then Jason asked me for trash bags and a hammer. He the tore out the drywall and insulation that had mold and took pictures of where leaks were so I could buy the parts and killz paint to protect area after I dryed it out. Then plumber could repair pipe. When I asked what I could give them for this, they didn't want money.. The human kindness they showed and the initiative they took to help me came at a time when I felt completely overwhelmed in life . Thus was not a small thing they dud for me. Yes they operate a business to make money but they are not greedy business owners without heart. They care about people and have empathy for those whom they come in contact with. This is a business building relationships with people they help. They understand how disasters can impact people and their lives. Prior to this 5 mos earlier there was a fire at house making it uninhabitable for 5 mos till restored. 3 days after moving back in pipes backed up while using washer because workers used baby wipes in toilet and washed off paint rollers in sink. This flooded out the rooms that had been restored from fire and contents had to go until a storage pod. Again..while waiting for things to dry out and have floors replaced, so when Tina and Jason did what they did. This was no small thing it was loving, kind and so contrary to any way I've seen any business operate. I recommend their company to everyone who finds themselves facing a disaster big or small that turns their life upside down or creates stress. They will handle every detail in a professional way coupled with a human element!

I had an electric panel catch fire and severely damage my home on December 17, 2017. My insurance company, Allstate, sent Alert Disaster to evaluate the damage and do a cleanup of the soot. Their personnel were very pleasant, but not qualified. They entirely missed the damage to the sub-structure that needed county and state approval. I had to use another contractor to make the necessary repairs. The greatest reason not to trust this company: They took all my personal property to be "de-sooted." Much of what they took was far from the fire and had incurred no soot exposure. ALERT DISASTER FAILED TO RETURN MUCH OF WHAT THEY TOOK!! 16 pillows were severely damaged by their "cleaning," and my snow boots and a very expensive runner rug (that was nowhere near the fire) were among the items never returned. My interface with the company proved fruitless. Despite having guaranteed that their crew would return to put all the items back where they belonged, the crew never returned to do so. They've made no effort to return the missing items. I suspect these items were deliberately stolen, as the runner rug was far from the fire in a closed room, that experienced no soot whatsoever. They never came back to finish the cleaning after my home was restored, and refused to return even after I offered to pay them out of pocket. I would urge victims of a disaster not to use this company. The Lord is my witness that all of the above is the TRUTH. ~amen~
