The business has responded Please see below:According to customer we installed granite countertops "incorrectly." This is not trueHis cabinets were not installed correctly he claims it is my faultStone countertops simply rest on however the cabinetry is set up***' logic is like this: somebody else messed something up unrelated to you so you should give me a refundBecause I am not the cabinet installer I cannot be blamed for something I did not install in the first place, which is, his incorrectly installed cabinetry that is a few inches higher on the left side of the stove than on the right side of his stoveTherefore if he wants to place blame it should be with his carpenterI did my job per the scope of the work and if he wants a refund he should request it from the cabinet installer who messed up in the first placeHe is not entitled to a refund for something that is not even my line of businessI am a stone countertop installer, not his carpenter

The business has responded.  Please see below:Cabinet or not it probably wasn't free floating, you need something to place the granite on top of like a length of wood screwed into the wall. In any case, the point remains. Your piece of wood is higher on the left than on the right. That whole job right there is not in my scope of work, you are supposed to have that taken care of before the job began. If I was a general contractor handling your whole project I would have taken care of that, but because I'm not a GC that's completely up to you to manage the project. If you mishandled it and didn't measure or level cabinets and other supports correctly before we installed that's still your responsibility, no blame is shifted to me because of that. We did not install that piece of wood or whatever the granite sits on. If the handyman you're using installed everything in the first place he needs to be the guy you ask for a refund. If it was existing from before that's still your job to put a level on and make sure everything is straight and even so the base is ready for the granite to be installed. Either way you would have had to pay your handyman to make it level so you're not losing anything. That's really all there is to this conversation. Thank you for understanding

this: somebody else messed something up unrelated to you so you should give me a refund. Because I am not the cabinet installer I cannot be blamed for something I did not install in the first place, which is, his incorrectly installed cabinetry that is a few inches higher on the left side of the stove than on the right side of his stove. Therefore if he wants to place blame it should be with his carpenter. I did my job per the scope of the work and if he wants a refund he should request it from the cabinet installer who messed up in the first place. He is not entitled to a refund for something that is not even my line of business. I am a stone countertop installer, not his carpenter.

correctly he claims it is my fault. Stone countertops simply rest on however the cabinetry is set up.
