I purchased a brand new home from Avatar in December 2012. They seemed to be the best quality for price during that time. I was very happy with home until the last year when I started getting water damage inside the home during strong storms. Avatar offers 1 year warranty on anything going wrong, 2 years for anything behind walls (ex. electrical), and a 10 year structure warranty. Well obviously I had a structural problem with my home but when I called the warranty place they informed me that only damage to load bearing structure was supported among other stipulations and rejected my claim. When I had someone come take a look at my home I found out that I had many cracks in my stucco on the second floor that was causing the leaking into the house. I was informed that there is no way I should have this many cracks in a 4 year old home. I wish I could attach pictures to this review so I could share them. Even though technically Avatar isn't required to help me with this problem I reached out to them to let them know of the situation because no one should have to have over $4000 worth of work done to the exterior structure of the home in the first 4 years of owning a brand new house. I have not had any response from them.

Therefore, I caution anyone buying a two story home from Avatar (AV Homes, etc) that there is a good chance you will be investing into your home structure in less than 5 years with no help from them.

My kids took my wife and I on the Old Road Dinner Train for our 50th anniversary, and we had a GREAT time. The train was beautiful. The food was great. The service was first rate. The murder mystery was a lot of fun. Pardon the pun, but we died laughing! I hope to do this again.
