Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: On August 30th in the am John called and spoke to Jeremy and gave any and all information that Advance auto repair asked forOnce again at no time was I informed that Advance auto repair could not complete the repairs as specified by SubaruI called many repair shops in the days following the timing chain repair, why would I choose one that told me they where unable to complete the repair all the way to the inner timing cover and O ringsAs stated before on there R.O they charged me for the INNER timing chain cover, If they did the repair as far as the inner they where minutes away from the O rings that where seeping from the beginning and should have been addressedWhen one of the O rings broke and my engine was pouring oil was the first time I heard the engine had to be pulled ectThe engine was at no time pulled to r/r the O ringsThere where bolts overtightened and or stripped I also had other repairs done at Advance Auto repair and have still been experiencing oil leaks I have an appointment with Gregs Japanese auto on Wensday September 7th for a full inspection of carIf they find it is the valve cover that Advance Auto Repair also replaced I would like either for the valve cover to be repaired or a full refund of valve cover gasketGregs Japanese auto I have spoken to [redacted] Sincerely, [redacted]

At this time Advance Auto Tune is denying a the request for a refund for servicesAdvance Auto Tune has attempted to contact John from "all pro auto" with the number providedwe got a personal cell phone voice mail, left a messageUpon receiving a call back as soon as the phone was picked up the other side hung up after hearing thanks for calling Advance Auto TuneAfter looking into all pro auto we have found multiple listings, we reversed looked up the phone number provided and found it belonged to a shop that is closed for businessRepair order provided is a generic work order found on google there is no shop name or contactthe invoice is not signed nor does it include taxAdvance Auto Tune seeks more information in regards to the alleged repairs done to the vehicle and this has not been providedOnce again Advance Auto Tune is willing to help out but will need proper documentation of what was found at the repair shop

This letter si in response the the complaint filed by one *** *** (***)*** Brought her Subaru BTribeca to Advance Auto Tune for repairsWhen *** arrived she presented Advance Auto Tune with a list of recommended repairs from her Subaru dealerAfter bringing ***s Subaru
into the shop bay Advance Auto Tune found that there were multiple engine leaksAdvance Auto Tune Advised *** to have the engine cleaned and re-inspected verify what was leaking what was was residual oil from other leaks*** requested that Advance Auto Tune proceed with repairs recommended from the Subaru dealer, these repairs included the valve cover gasket and timing cover gasketAt that time Advance Auto Tune explained that the shop is not equipped for working further than timing cover with chain driven engines.*** agreed to the repairs know that Advance Auto Tune would not be able o work in the engine past the timing cover (the timing cover includes the front crankseal as part of the cover)After repairs were complete Advance Auto Tune notated that there were leaks present however could not be % identified due to the excessive oil leaks from the timing and valve coversAdvance Auto tune once again advised *** to have the engine cleand and reinspected to identify further leaksThis was never done*** returned to Advance Auto Tune with several other issues with the Subaru from transmission problems to unknown noises that turned out to be an old cell phone forgotten in the car door pocket*** returned again stating there was excessive oil leaking from the engine (this being after the vehicle spent several weeks at a transmission shop) Advance Auto Tune did find that there was a leak from behind the timing cover area(not from the cover but behind)Again Advance Auto Tune explained to *** that the shop is not equipped to work further than the timing cover with chain driven motorsThe vehicle would need to be seen by a shop that can work on internal engine componentsBeing that Advance Auto Tune has explained multiple times that the shop is not equipped for working further in the engine than the timing cover, Advance Auto Tune is denying a refund for the services performedAdvance Auto Tune is willing to pay for any bolts that were allegedly damaged from the repairs performed at Advance Auto Tune if the said bolts could be provided for inspection along with the work order describing the damaged bolts

This is in response to the complaint filed against advance auto tuneThe vehicle was in the shop for a/c repair we found that the vehicle needed a computer for the a/c to workWe ordered this part from the dealer which took several weeks, we informed *** that this would take several weeks and
could use the vehicle till then just no a/c*** opted to leave the vehicle at the shop till the new computer cameAfter the repairs were completed the engine did have a misfireAdvance Auto Tune explained that we would need to diagnose the problemAdvance Auto explained that depending on what is found as the cause of the misfire there may be a charge, the vehicle was at the dealer right before our shop as *** explainedDepending on what was found in the diagnostic is whether or not we would have to charge for diagnostic or repairIf the problem was related to the work we did there would be no charge, however if the problem was a seperate issue there would be a charge to repair *** opted to bring to dealer and did not allow Advance Auto Tune time to reinspect/diagnose the vehicleWe are denying this claim as the vehicle was brought elsewhere before it could be looked at by Advance Auto Tune

I called many repair shops in the days following the timing chain repair, why would I choose one that told me they where unable to complete the repair all the way to the inner timing cover and O rings. As stated before on there R.O they charged me for the INNER timing chain cover, If they did the repair as far as the inner they where 12 minutes away from the O rings that where seeping from the beginning and should have been addressed. When one of the O rings broke and my engine was pouring oil was the first time I heard the engine had to be pulled ect. The engine was at no time pulled to r/r the O rings. There where 13 bolts overtightened and or stripped.  I also had other repairs done at Advance Auto repair and have still been experiencing oil leaks I have an appointment with Gregs Japanese auto on Wensday September 7th for a full inspection of car. If they find it is the valve cover that Advance Auto Repair also replaced I would like either for the valve cover to be repaired or a full refund of valve cover gasket. Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
I brought my vehicle in to Advanced Auto December 31st 2015. I had previously gone to the Subaru dealer to have my vehicle inspected and wanted to get an estimate on the leaks. At the time I was unaware there was an inner and outer timing cover, but later found out. (see further ahead) At no time was I informed that Advanced Auto could not properly repair my vehicle. This statement does not makes sense that I would pay for a job to be halfway completed. Please not the attached RO from the repair work done at Advanced Auto. In no part of this document is it stated that I was made aware of the job not able to be completed properly. Also note in the document that the second job line stating TIMING CHAIN HOUSING COVER-inner: this indicates that the job was complete per timing cover reseal. Please not document 3. This is a diagram of the outer and inner cover. According to the document Advanced Auto provided me at the time of work completed they resealed both covers. About a week later I noticed oil loss and repeatedly brought the vehicle in for further inspection. Advanced Auto told me not to worry, it was just a seep. Over time the leak got worse, and on July 2nd I noticed the vehicle running really rough. I pulled over and checked my oil and found that the vehicle was low. I went to Oil Can Henrys and they added 2.5 quarts of oil (6 being apx fill) I proceeded to contact my Daughter on July 3rd. She came and looked at the vehicle. She indicated she thought the timing cover was leaking. I brought it back to advanced auto and they informed me they had to pull the engine to properly repair the vehicle and they could not do so. I than contacted another repair technician and he informed me that the o rings located behind the inner cover were leaking and had to re-seal the inner and outer covers that Advanced auto had previously repaired. Looking into ALL DATA the o rings were an additional .2 (12 minutes) to replace. This requires no special tools or equipment. When the technician got into the job he found the bolts damaged. Unfortunately since I was not given the request to return the parts, they were disposed of. I will not my daughter noticed missing bolts as well after the repair completed. I am requesting a full refund for the work I had to have re-done due to the quality of the initial repair. I have documents and statements supporting my request. Sincerely,[redacted]
