On May 27, 2011, I rented a 2007 Mitsubishi Gallant from Advance Rent A Car. The windshield had a crack that ran horizontally, just above the wiper blades. Upon discovery of the crack that same day, I called Advance Rent a Car and spoke with "[redacted]". I requested to return the vehicle to Advance Rent A Car but "[redacted]" advised me that he was the owner and that he already knew about the crack. "[redacted]" told me there was no need to return the car. On June 28, 2011, I returned the rental to Advance Rent a Car and the employee who accepted the return stated the "the owner knows about the windshield crack", and said employee noted on her record of return that the crack as a pre-existing condition. Subsequently, without waiting to speak to me first, the owner of Advance Rent A Car, [redacted] contacted my insurance company to file a claim for the cracked windshield in the amount of $925.00. My insurance agent contacted me and I explained the situation and the company turned down the claim. Since my insurance company turned down his fraudulent claim, Mr. [redacted] has been harassing me in a number of ways, including threatening to sue me for the window replacement costs of $925.00.
