Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] uploaded documents to support her argument, however she failed to upload the one key piece of evidence that counters her fuzzy math The Advanced Solar’s Solar Savings Summary attached clearly shows my bill should be less than $for the month of January based on the solar panels production If my bill was $or even $(three times THEIR estimate) I would accept her fuzzy math as say we had an unusually hot winter, but this is not the case It’s pretty clear Advanced Solar is not willing to accept their unit is under performing based on THEIR estimates, so I will simply continue to openly advise my neighbors and coworkers against their product Word of mouth travels fast in Redbird, Alamo and [redacted] and the community [redacted] pages are a great place to vent about businesses and contractors that do not meet customer expectations Regards, [redacted]

[redacted] , Well I’ve spent most of the morning running the numbers on this customer and even sent somebody by the house to verify his total solar production from the first day it was commissioned until today I’m not sure what this guys problem is other than he thinks I should be responsible for a devastating hail storm but Advanced Solar truly has an exemplary record in the market place, a stellar work force including the sales guy who sold him his system and likely the best service and guarantees in the marketplaceAttached are the supporting documents including the production forecasts that was given to him at the time of the sale, the time of commissioning and was also submitted to [redacted] for program management purposes The general summation is as follows: KiloWattHours is the total projected solar energy production his system is expected to produce based on industry standard data from NREL (National Renewables Energy Laboratory) which is also the validation that [redacted] accepts for the rebate program that Mr [redacted] benefited fromis the ACTUAL solar energy production as of today from his PV Meter installed on the side of his housekWh’s is the actual amount of power his system has OVER PRODUCED compared to what is forecasted This equates to 11% more power than what he purchased or was lead to believe he should receive at any time during the process We are the only company in town that actually guarantees this production and we do so because we see competitor systems that are either designed or installed poorly every day Our guaranty states that we will for the first years guaranty the forecasted energy production within 10% +/- of this forecast barring of course things beyond our control For example if he or his neighbor planted a tree which in turn created shading that reduced his production I’ve copied [redacted] on this last email and attachments so that they don’t have to chase their tales like I have in the event this comes to their attention There is absolutely no grounds for a complaint let alone an expectation of a refund In the event he chooses to remove the system on his own accord he needs to be aware that he signed a contract with [redacted] for years to keep the system in operation and will owe a prorated rebate back to them if he does soSincerely, [redacted] Advanced Solar and Electric, LLCTECL

I am rejecting this response because:  [redacted] uploaded documents to support her argument, however she failed to upload the one key piece of evidence that counters her fuzzy math.  The Advanced Solar’s Solar Savings Summary attached clearly shows my bill should be less than $20 for the month of January based on the solar panels production.  If my bill was $40 or even $65 (three times THEIR estimate) I would accept her fuzzy math as say we had an unusually hot winter, but this is not the case.  It’s pretty clear Advanced Solar is not willing to accept their unit is under performing based on THEIR estimates, so I will simply continue to openly advise my neighbors and coworkers against their product.  Word of mouth travels fast in Redbird, Alamo and [redacted] and the community [redacted] pages are a great place to vent about businesses and contractors that do not meet customer expectations

Mr. [redacted],  I would be happy to come by and walk through the system with you and review the energy production process and flow which is also outlined in the closing folder we gave you at the time of commissioning.  There simply is no “fuzziness” or any arbitrary component to the math.  The PV METER is much like an odometer on a car and starts at 0 the day it goes into service and simply registers the solar energy production directly from the solar system before any of that energy intermixes with your home or the grid.  The day I attended to your complaint your PV METER read 7481.  It’s on the side of your home by the solar equipment and your billing meter and you are welcome to take a look and validate this.Admittedly the [redacted] bill can be a little confusing.  Obviously we have no control over that and with current software and hardware limitations [redacted] does not have a reasonable alternative either. That being said your bill only reflects the excess solar power that was not consumed by your home and was sent as an overage back to the grid.  The bill in no way shows your total energy production, only your over production.  For example you may have produced $80 in electricity for a month but $75 of that was consumed directly into the home before ever going back to the grid through the billing meter your credit would only show $5.  Your bill was still reduced by $80, $5 of which was a credit from [redacted] and $75 was in solar power that you produced, used and did not have to buy from [redacted].I have no control over how much your bill is, how much power you use or how much your bill should be, only how much I can reduce it by.  It is not uncommon to have inclement weather that causes low solar production and higher electric bills than the previous bill making your bill seem unaffected by solar.  Basically we have no control over how much power you use.  I’ve even had customers add things like a swimming pool, hot tub or electric car after getting solar and then complain that their bill did not go down and their solar was not working. The solar energy system we installed for you is working as it should and producing approximately 11% more electricity than we said it would with a verifiable solar production to date of 7481 kWh’s of energy delivered to you which is about $800 in energy savings.  I’ve attached the [redacted] document that is also in your closing folder that we left with you at the time of commissioning, it also gives an illustration of how to read your bill and your meters.Sincerely, [redacted]Advanced Solar and Electric, LLC TECL #27328

responsible for a devastating hail storm but Advanced Solar truly has an exemplary record in the market place, a stellar work force including the sales guy who sold him his system and likely the best service and guarantees in the marketplace. Attached are the supporting documents including the production forecasts that was given to him at the time of the sale, the time of commissioning and was also submitted to [redacted] for program management purposes.  The general summation is as follows: 6715 KiloWattHours is the total projected solar energy production his system is expected to produce based on industry standard data from NREL (National Renewables Energy Laboratory) which is also the validation that [redacted] accepts for the rebate program that Mr. [redacted] benefited from.7481 is the ACTUAL solar energy production as of today from his PV Meter installed on the side of his house. 766 kWh’s is the actual amount of power his system has OVER PRODUCED compared to what is forecasted.  This equates to 11% more power than what he purchased or was lead to believe he should receive at any time during the process.  We are the only company in town that actually guarantees this production and we do so because we see competitor systems that are either designed or installed poorly every day.  Our guaranty states that we will for the first 3 years guaranty the forecasted energy production within 10% +/- of this forecast barring of course things beyond our control.  For example if he or his neighbor planted a tree which in turn created shading that reduced his production.   I’ve copied [redacted] on this last email and attachments so that they don’t have to chase their tales like I have in the event this comes to their attention.  There is absolutely no grounds for a complaint let alone an expectation of a refund.  In the event he chooses to remove the system on his own accord he needs to be aware that he signed a contract with [redacted] for 5 years to keep the system in operation and will owe a prorated rebate back to them if he does so. Sincerely, [redacted]Advanced Solar and Electric, LLCTECL 27328
