Advanced Automotive Diagnostics Reviews (3)

November 7, 2015To Whom It May Concern:I am receipt of a letter you sent to my client, Eddie E***, on November4th, The letter is in regard to one ***, and her complaint against hiscompany, Advanced Automotive Diagnostics ("AAD").In her complaint, she indicates she took her vehicle to
my client due to a"loud braking noise." MrE*** performed diagnostics, put the car onto amechanic's lift, and drove around the block with her in the carPer her owntyped statement, she said MrE*** told her that, "[t]he thing that is wrong withyour car is the front wheel axle is leaking and you need your brake padsreplaced." According to MrE***, he informed her on two more separateoccasions that the noise she complained of was coming from the brakes, not fromthe axle or any place elseThe above diagnosis is based upon him being an ASEcertified master mechanic with over years of experience in the car repairindustry.MrE*** wrote up an estimate for the axle (attached)It states that hercar needs front brakesDespite this, she chose not to have him fix her brakesInfact, she told MrE*** that her brother would replace the brakesAgain, as shedid not want AAD to replace the pads, he just installed the axle for $220.36, andnot the $as she alleges. She states that a few days after AAD repaired the car and, presumably, after her brother replaced the brakes, the braking noise was backShe writes ",..itseemed as if they just put oil on it to make it tempgo away." Neither myself normy client have any idea what this statement means, as AAD never touched thebrakesThey were not given permission to do soWhat would explain the noiseis that when her brother put new brake pads on the car, he either did not installthem correctly or he did not apply brake pad grease as requiredThe brakesshould have been replaced by a professional, but MrE*** was told not to do so.The invoice clearly shows MrE*** only quoted a new axle. She mentions that MrE*** would hang up on her when she would callIwould ask to see her phone records showing thisIf I had dropped a car off at arepair shop and the mechanic kept hanging up on me when I called and before hemade repairs, I would go and get the vehicleShe never did this.As to the car being driven by somebody at his shop, I assume she has noproof via a gps printout or other hard evidence that it was truly her car that wasdriven for those two daysIf there is hard evidence that somebody from AADdrove the vehicle, MrE*** will deal with the person accordingly, which willprobably mean terminationMrE*** did drive around the block once whenshe initially brought it to him, with her in the car, just so he could listen for thenoise. After the brake noise returned, Ms*** brought the car back to myclientHe drove with her around the block again, and said, once more, that thenoise was still coming from the brakesShe said her brother had replaced them.He told her that he probably did not install them correctly, which would includenot putting grease onto them as requiredShe asserted that he didBut, unlessshe knows how to install brakes and actually watched her brother throughout theinstallation, she has no way of knowing if this is true or not.In sum, MrE*** told her several times that the noise was due to thebrakes needing replacedBut, because the axle was damaged and it was slinginggrease onto the brakes, it was crucial that it be replacedThe vehicle was in sucha condition that it had to be towed to MrE***'s shop, after allShe elected toonly have the axle replaced, and left the brakes up to her brother, who is not anASE Certified Master MechanicIt is apparent that one of two things may haveoccurredOne, she did not replace the brakes at allOr, two, her brother did notproperly replace themNo matter what scenario you believe, one thing is certain:MrE*** did not touch her brakes, and the noise she complained of was, andstill is, coming from them.Ms*** is attempting to get a refund from my client for repairs shechose not to have him completeHe did the repairs he was contracted to do, andwas paid accordinglyNothing in her complaint mentions any dissatisfactionwith the axle repairAgain, the noise was and is from the brakesShe chose tohave a non-professional install the brakesMrE*** will warranty his repairs, but not the repairs of her brother. Finally, in her "Desired Settlement" paragraph, she states she wants arefund because she, "missed work, school and everything by leaving my carthere and for them not to figure out my problemThey charged me for somethingthat had absolutely nothing to do with my braking noise."She did not have to miss "work, school and everything." She could havesimply borrowed a car from somebody or rented one for $or so a dayMr.E*** services customers a monthHe told her he could not get to the carthat day or the next, as he services customers on a first come, first served basis. She chose to miss work and school, and uses MrE*** as an excuse. And yes, he did charge her for something that had absolutely nothing to dowith her braking noise the axelBut, it needed repairedThe car had to betowed to his shop due to the damaged axel, not worn brakes, and she agreed to itsrepairHer brakes needed replaced, which were and are making the noise shecomplains ofShe admits throughout her complaint that the noise was due to thebrakesHer first sentence even reads, "[m]y car was making a really loud brakingnoise ...." But, she told MrE*** not to fix themAs a result, she still has thenoise. At this point, she paid for work she contracted MrE*** to doShe doesnot complain of any problems with the axel repairNow, if MrE***'smechanics had not installed the axel properly, and it caused her more problems,he would fix it at no chargeBut, like he told her, the axel has nothing to do withthe brake noise. This is the first time in his years of being a mechanic that anybody hasfiled a complaint against himI am advising him not to give her a refund for$(which is not even what he charged her), as his repairs were not brakerelatedIf she wishes to sue, please have her send the complaint to my attentionat the above addressI welcome the opportunity to address this matter in courtwith her, and let a jury decide the outcome

Complaint:
Thanks for you pleasant response! Let me start off by saying
I have proof for everything that I am about to sayPer the attached statement,
you are correct; he did call me and say there were two problems with my car
that were causing the braking noise: the front right axle and BRAKE PADSYou
said it yourself that him, the professional, stated thatYes, you are
absolutely right, I told him not to replace my brake pads because I would get
them replacedI had him fix the axle (which is a random problem that I don’t
think really existed) and I had my brakes replaced by another professionalWhen Ed
called me, he quoted me for the brakes and the axle $in parts and $in
laborThat would have been $for the brakes & $for the labor to replace
the brakesI decided to to go elsewhere for thatHe assured me that those two
items were causing this noiseMy problem came right back and that’s when I
went back to Ed and he told me that he would have to take another look at it
because obviously he didn’t do a thorough inspection the first timeThis would
have been more time & more moneyHis “advanced diagnostics” should have
figure out what my problem was in the first placeHe misdiagnosed my carI
then had to take it to another professional, pay to get yet another diagnostic
and he was 100% sure that my problem was my ROTORSHe ended up being correct
on the 1st tryMy problem was my rotorsNot my brake pads, nor my
axleI have proof of that as wellI had to pay more money to get this resolved
when it could have been resolved in the very beginningThis could have been
resolved in the first place if the diagnostic would have been done correctlyNo,
there is nothing wrong with my axle & I’m not even sure there was anything
wrong with it to begin withIf he would have diagnosed my car correctly, we
would not be in this situationYou claim that I don’t have any proof that my
car was driven more than just around the block? I doI have “snapshot” with
*** that tracks every time my car was started and how many miles it was
driven for and I would gladly have them fax it over to your office if needed
So many lies that you guys have been caught up in and it is absolutely
ridiculous! I would love to send you phone recordsI called him multiple times
and he even got me confused with another carIf needed, I will fax everything
over to you about the phone calls, excess driving and the real problem with my
carI have absolutely nothing to lie aboutOn the other hand, Ed & his
company are lyingHe called me and word for word said the problem with my car
is my front right axle and brake padsI trusted him and was truly disappointed
Regards,
Andreanna ***

Hello,I have attached the initial diagnostics report from [redacted]. Usually when [redacted] replaces rotors, they replace the brakes as well but when I took my car to them, they said that my brakes were in good condition and that they would only have to replace the rotors. The [redacted] that did my brake inspection on 10/26/2015 was located at [redacted]. After going to them, I went to [redacted] and bought rotors and took them to the [redacted] located at 2[redacted] to have them replaces which is where the service labor charge is from. Thank You.
