DrNicks is absolutely excellentGreat service, friendly folks, quality work

As a small business owner, it is very important that I keep my fleet of vans in great working order DrNick has been instrumental in helping me achieve that goal Service work is done quickly and efficiently The shop is very clean and the employees are knowledgeable and friendly I would recommend DrNick's Transmissions and Complete Auto Care for all your vehicle's servicing

I'm sorry I didn't fill out the form correctlyYes I do want a refundI stopped payment on my check and now I owe a collection agencyThe reason I reversed the charges on the check is because they caused more than in additional damage to the vehicleThey did not fix the problem, put
the wrong parts on the car, did not do things I was told were done and wanted an additional 2,for another part I did not need. God forbid this should happen to anyone elseI feel taken advantage of it has been months and the vehicle is not repaired(I brought it to another place) and they have to order the correct parts

Revdex.com,*** had her *** towed into our shop on or about 6/5/with a noiseThe vehicle did not start and had to be jump started to diagnose the noiseAfter jump starting the vehicle, scanning the computer for codes and lift checking the vehicle it was determined that there was a noise
coming from inside the engine, unrelated to the head gasket work we had performed over years earlierAt this point we recommended to her to replace the engine completely with either a remanufactured engine or a low mileage used engineShe declined to have the repairs performedWe feel that we are entitled to charge hour labor to diagnose, jump start, scan the computer and lift check the vehiclePlease let me know if I can be of any further assistance in this matter.Regards,*** ***PresidentDrNicks Transmissions and Complete Auto Care

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
When I brought my car to Dr Nicks, it was for a "free inspection".  They were referred to me by another party that does my oil changes frequently.  I was not having the issues that was stated by Dr Nicks, The car had just over 100,000 miles and that is low for being almost 10 years old and well maintained.  After having the car for days, they told me that it could not be fixed.  It took over 2 days to take the transmission out and said there was a broken part and it could not be fixed nor put back together, which was not true, although I didn't know that at the time.  I was told that I needed a new transmission.  I was never shown any broken parts or shown what the problem was.  I was told by [redacted] that it would be only a couple hundred dollars more for a brand new transmission rather than a used (and they didn't make any money on a new one) and I said ok, not knowing any better.  Immediately after getting the car back, there was an unbearable burning smell, that was not there before.  I called the shop was told it was just fluid that needed to "burn off".  A week later, I brought it to another mechanic who told me that there was now a [redacted] in the power steering hose due to the work that had just been done, causing the burning smell.  He put the car on the lift and showed me.  It was also pointed out to me that the car was not cleaned underneath as I was told it was.  I called Dr Nicks and was told that it would cost approximately $500 dollars to fix this problem.  I refused the work and had the other mechanic (Mild to Wild, [redacted]) fix the power steering hose for over $100 less. There was nothing wrong with my power steering prior to having any work done.
After having the hose fixed, there was a seal leaking from the transmission. I brought the car back to Dr Nicks and asked him to speak to the other mechanic that fixed the hose, He called [redacted] from Mild to Wild at which time I specifically heard him say "refurbished transmission".  I was told prior that it was a brand new one by [redacted]. I asked why he said it was a used transmission and he said "he didn't know, That if his son said it was new than it was"  I said but you just said used and I was charged more for a new one rather than a used one.  I never got an answer to the question, I was brushed off.  One would think the owner of a shop would know the answer to this simple question.
They had my car for another week and could not fix the problem.  I was told that there was no charge to me even though they put several hours into trying to fix the problem, trying 3 different seals on it.  There was also an additional 300 miles on my car which I have no idea where these miles came from.  t doesn't take 300 miles to test drive a car.  I asked about the extra miles and was told they had to leave it running on the lift.  How can you put 300 miles on a car when it is on a lift?
I was then told the leak could not be fixed and they wanted ANOTHER $2,300 + tax for a new transfer case.  I couldn't believe it as I had no issues with this car and now I was almost at $5,000 in repairs.  I refused the work and asked for my car back.
I brought it to a 3rd mechanic who specializes in transmissions.  He had it on the lift and showed me where the problem was coming from.  I did not need a new transfer case, I needed a seal and the reason it was still leaking was because the wrong parts and bolts were put on the car.  Dr. Nicks did not put the correct parts on the car and tried to do a quick fix.  The new mechanic has ordered the correct parts and it will cost about $250, not $2,300 as I was told by Dr. Nicks.
I went back to Dr. Nick's and spoke to [redacted] and explained what I was told.  I asked to see the paperwork on what parts were ordered for my car and was told no, it "was an inside document" he then called me a lunatic and told me to leave.
After a further conversation with [redacted], He told me that they would pay the other mechanic the $250 to fix the car.  Why would they offer to pay the other mechanic?  It was because they did not fix the problem and cost me thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs.
There are no documents stating that I had a leak in my power steering with my signature.  This was all told to me after the fact and when I asked to see the documents, I was refused.  I was refused any documents that I asked to see.  I feel that I was grossly taken advantage of being a woman and having no knowledge about cars.
When I was told they would pay the other shop to fix THEIR mistake, to me it was an admission that they did not repair the car properly after having it several times.
I have been dealing with this issue since late February.  My car is still not fixed because the proper parts are on backorder.  I can not drive the car on the highway (per the other mechanic) as it could start on fire from the leak on the exhaust getting too hot.  I have a young child and can not take that kind of risk, which has inconvenienced my life dramatically.
It was also mentioned that the car they loaned me "was not to my liking".  I appreciated the gesture since this was about the 5th time they had the car without ever offering one before, in the dead of winter having to walk my child to and from school in the harsh elements.  But, the seat was broken, I could barely reach the pedals, the breaks were grinding and the gas tank empty.  I had to put gas it in to make the 2 mile drive home. I could barely drive it and felt it was not a safe vehicle for myself and my little girl.
A "free" inspection has now cost me thousands of dollars and over 3 months of my time.
I guess the expression is true... nothing is free.

Sincerely,
[redacted]
