information- We then informed her that she should get in touch with her HR Department. In the meantime she would have to pay our office fees when she came in for treatment. We informed patient before appointment about her insurance status and she decided to come in as she was in some pain. After doing a clinical exam on her, the patient was told about her total cost before proceeding. Our full fees for services rendered are $358, out of which we collected $270 for exam, x-ray, and extraction and Nitrous gas, Additionally, she was also told that once we did find out that she was active with her insurance, we would give her any refund that she was eligible for. Again, the patient did know beforehand that we could not verify her eligibility with insurance.Once we received insurance payments the patient was informed of the amount we were refunding her as per her insurance guidelines. Since we are a participating provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield her copay was $145, so difference from what she paid $270 - $145 = $125. After being on the phone for a while explaining the situation, the patient kept on insisting we would refund her the full amount of $146 from her insurance. We also asked her to stop by our office so we can explain her but Angelina wouldn’t listen and kept arguing. After learning about her behavior towards our office, a management decision was made in 2-4 days to refund the amount of $146.00 instead of $ 125.00, so that we could keep the patient happy and satisfied. In our eyes, it was not worth for us to spend hours and having a negative reputation for the difference of the cost. Unfortunately, the patient did not wait to make a complaint to your department. Again, the patient was refunded the full amount by check no.10136 dated 4/1/2014 for $146.1 have attached the copy of her insurance EOB.If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at ###-###-####, so that this complaint can be further resolved if necessary. Review: I came into this dental office for an extraction. They charged me $270 for the extraction. That included an X-ray, nitrious oxide, and extraction. I have very good dental ins. I paid upfront like they asked. I look on my health care website for my EOB (explanation of benefits) and it states that this dental office billed for $358 and that my ins co paid $146 to this dental office. I called requesting the monies due to me. The "billing specialist" stated I would only receive a refund of $125. This company bilked me and my ins co. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ARE PAYING CASH.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund. After multiple phone calls they have not given me my fair portion of what is due to me.
