Advanced Desert Dermatology

I was taken to an exam room where a medical assistant asked me very few questions about my condition and then had the intern doctor come into the room ready for treatment. No discussion of options, no discussion of cost involved, no physical examination, NOTHING! They shoved a clipboard with several pages of consents for me to sign and when I read them it was agreeing for me to pay over $300 out of pocket for my visit and they insisted I come back for follow ups. I literally walked out of my appointment and refused treatment. It was the worst experience Ive ever had at a doctors office. Then they had the audacity to bill my insurance $96 for the office visit, they charged me to fill out their paperwork. When I called them to find out what they were billing me for, their very rude office manager felt the need to go over my chart information without even verifying who I was which is a violation of HIPPA. I asked her if she had any formal medical title other than office manager and she said no! Im baffled why someone with no formal medical experience would feel the need to discuss patients files. Either way I am disgusted by the way this matter has been treated and I feel like everyone should know who they are trusting with their health information.
