PATIENT'S CARD AT THE TIME OF SERVICE. WE DO NOT TAKE THE PATIENT'S WORD NOR WILL THE INSURANCE GUARANTEE PAYMENT FOR ANY CLAIM. ONCE THE CLAIM IS PROCESSED AND WE RECEIVE AN EXPLANATION FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY, A REFUND, IF OWED, WILL BE PROCESSED. THE REFUNDS ARE PROCESSED ONCE A MONTH AND OUR ACCOUNTING FIRM WRITES THE CHECKS. THIS PROCESS CAN TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS STARTING WITH NOW LONG THE INSURANCE TAKES TO PROCESS THE CLAIM. THE PATIENT HAS RECEIVED HER REFUND DUE. THE PATIENT WAS TOLD THIS SEVERAL TIMES BY OUR BILLING STAFF.

My insurance company sent Advanced Eye care a letter on May 26th advising they had duplicate billed them and also advising them how much they would be paid. If AEC only issues refunds once a month (I and my insurance company were told by Angel that it is done the end of the month) why wasn't it issued the end of May or the end of June or the end of July? I think it is ridiculous that it "would take months" to pay a patient money that is owed to them. I feel like if I hadn't stayed on top of this and called the office multiple times and filed this complaint that I wouldn't have gotten my money. Makes me wonder how many of their patients they owe money to and the patients don't know it. They did finally mail my refund but I still will not ever do business with them again.
