Dr. L[redacted] was great but his front desk staff need to get their act together. We've suffered 2 big oops from them that have resulted in us never wanting to return. The first big mistake was "forgetting" to inform us what our out of pocket costs for a days procedure before it was completed. They are fee for service so you have to pay before leaving. They neglected to tell us our bill that day before leaving was nearly $1000! This was just for diagnostics, not an actual "get you pregnant" procedure. The next mistake would crush us and leave me to report them and warn others about the incompetence. They went over what our costs would be for the IVF procedure we were planning on. These amounts were given after factoring in our health insurance, which they confirmed with us they spoke to and made sure it was covered. I asked them twice, once over the phone and again during that sit down about them being 100% sure insurance would take care of some, seeing as this procedure there is up to $27,000, I wanted to certain. They again, assured us that "Yes, this would be final cost, roughly around $10,000, after insurance." After a few months of talking with my husband and making arrangements and saving we decided on the month to get the ball rolling. The month came and just to be sure, since lathered had already been a previous mistake on their part, I called our insurance to make sure they really had received the correct information. Nope, come to find out, they had no record of speaking to the office and that no, it wasn't covered. Only diagnosis and treatment of infertility was. My husband and I were heart broken, within minutes our cost went up $17,000. The months of prep were for nothing. The hope we had to start our family this year after 7 years of infertility treatments and surgeries, gone. I pray no other couple suffers this same disappointment and hurt that we have. Make sure to always double check someone's work, when they say "Oh, we'll take care of it", see that they do, thoroughly.
