The customer, [redacted] , requested a part that we had to special order from another providerHe reported to us that he installed the part, a hybrid battery, into his Toyota, but his car still did not functionWe offered him to return the battery and we would order another, however Mr [redacted] refusedIn discussion with our manager, ***, it was determined that the problem lie with the engine and not the battery, however, when Mr [redacted] was reminded that All Star Auto Parts does not refund special order parts he became agitated and caused a scene repeatedly yelling profanities amidst other customers in our lobby.Our return/exchange policies are clearly printed on our sales receiptsMr [redacted] was also verbally informed of this policy before the special order was madeThough we do not offer refunds on special order parts we do allow for exchanges if the part is malfunctioningOur vendors from whom we order special parts will not accept returns of properly functioning auto partsThe battery in question was not defective as Mr [redacted] claimsHe used the battery to diagnosis his automobile's problem and now he wanted to return it We are an auto recycling business providing parts--we do not diagnose problems individuals have with their vehiclesMr [redacted] made a determination that it was his automobile's battery that was the problem when it turns our was the engine insteadHe admitted this to usTo this day Mr [redacted] maintains possession of the battery we sold to himWe therefore are unable to proceed with any type of exchange or service.Sincerely, [redacted]
