I am rejecting this response because: It is falseI specifically asked if it would be covered by my insurance and if not I would like to wait because I will be eligible under my wives insurance starting July 1,They said they would check and then proceeded with the xrays as if it was coveredIt makes absolutely no sense for me to get dental work done that wasn't going to be covered as I only had about week to wait to be eligible under my wivesSo why would I willingly get dental work done that needed to be paid out of pocket when a secondary insurance would be able to cover it in a week I understand any payment due not paid my insurance is my responsibility, but we the office led us to believe it would beThe balance due has been paid and I would now like this issue resolvedThank you, [redacted]

I would like to start by clarifying to you that *** is not our patient of record and was not present for the exam/consultation appointment, her husband is and we have not heard from him.We saw *** on 6-15-for an exam/consultation appointmentHe was advised that the x-rays we had received
were insufficient for diagnosis and we would need to take a full mouth x-ray series (FMX) in order to proceed with the exam.We explained to him our reasons for the need of a FMX and informed him that his insurance would not pay since they had already paid for it at another dental officeWe advised him that the fee would be $and we would be collecting this at the end of his visitHe verbally authorized to proceed with taking an FMX in order to have the exam. Dr** *** and assistant, *** ***, were present as witnessesThe FMX was taken and exam completed.Upon completion of the exam and consultation of recommended treatment, patient was left with our receptionist to go over the financial aspect of the recommended treatmentOur receptionist re-iterated that the FMX was not going to be covered by insurance so she would be collecting for thatPt stated "I'm sorry, I wasn't prepared to pay today, I will send in a check when I get home."It is neither our policy, nor protocol, to force any treatment on any patientNot only do we require consent from every patient for each individual treatment procedure, it would be physically impossible to take x-rays on a patient without their consent. While it is the patient's responsibility to know their own insurance plan and benefits, as a courtesy, we will check on benefits and bill insurance on behalf of patientWe will inform the patient of benefits available based on information provided to us by the patient and the insurance carrier. Please note that patient did sign our “Patient Financial Policies” before he came into our office where it clearly states: "You are responsible for payment of all co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance and non-covered servicesIf your insurance does not pay after days, the account balance will be your responsibility." We have attached a copy of the signed Financial Policies for your review.I hope this helps clear up any confusion and misunderstanding. If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or at***.Thank You,*** *** RDAEF2Clinical Manager

I am rejecting this response because: It is false. I specifically asked if it would be covered by my insurance and if not I would like to wait because I will be eligible under my wives insurance starting July 1,2016. They said they would check and then proceeded with the xrays as if it was covered. It makes absolutely no sense for me to get dental work done that wasn't going to be covered as I only had about 1 week to wait to be eligible under my wives. So why would I willingly get dental work done that needed to be paid out of pocket when a secondary insurance would be able to cover it in a week.  I understand any payment due not paid my insurance is my responsibility, but we the office led us to believe it would be. The balance due has been paid and I would now like this issue resolved. Thank you, [redacted]
