This customer signed up for a Pediatric Advanced Life Support renewal class with a textbook, as she described in her statementOur policy, as outlined on our website or explained by a representative when calling our office, is to not ship the textbook when the class is fewer than days away, as we cannot guarantee the participant will receive it in time for the classIn these circumstances, we hold the book and provide it to the participant at the classIt was explained to the customer that she could come to the office to pick up the textbookThe participant chose to yell into the telephone at one of our representatives that she did not have time to come to pick up a book and instead wanted a full refund for her class and textbookWe do not provide refunds for cancelled classes, as outlined in our policiesIt was offered to the participant that she could move to another class once without being charged an additional timeShe proceeded to continue to yell at our representativeAfter being yelled at by the customer for several minutes,, our representative informed the customer that if she would not be calm and allow her to speak, she would have no choice but to hang up, and when the customer yelled more, she disconnected the call, as the customer was not allowing our representative to speak or answer questions. After the way this customer treated our office staff, the manager instructed the representatives to not answer her repeated calls We contacted law enforcement to make them aware of how our staff were treatedWe were advised by law enforcement to contact them back if this customer came onto our premise and to not make contact with her again.Per our Terms of Use, which are attached, we do not provide refundsHad the customer signed up for the class with more notice, she would have received a textbook before, but as she did not behave in a professional manner and law enforcement had to be involved, we will not allow her to participate in a class with our organizationWe have a long-standing relationship with many organizations in WisconsinWe treat all of our customers and employees with respectIf our employees are not treated with respect, we do authorize them to disconnect callsIn this particular circumstance, law enforcement supported our decision

To resolve the dispute, we have decided to refund this customer, as we have many other customersWe have credited the money back to her credit card account. We will appreciate if the customer does not contact or come to our company again in the futureWe are a family owned business. We care about the health and welfare of our employeesThey do not deserve to be treated the way they wereNo one does. The owners are paramedics who also understand right and wrongSomeone who waits until the last minute to sign up for a class and then, when frustrated, lashes out at our hard working office staff is wrongWe stand behind our employees and any decisions they make 100%.We have trained over 50,participants since the inception of our company years agoUnfortunately, in our experience, the typical consumer contacts the Revdex.com to complain when they are in the wrongAny customer who has a concern with our organization and contacts us in a respectful way regarding that complaint has their complaint resolved quicklyThe people who have filed complaints with the Revdex.com have acted in the same way as this customerWe refuse to deal with people who treat strangers with such disrespect

[redacted] has participated in several classes with our organization before.  We do have a terms of use participants HAVE to agree to in order to participate in our courses and complete their registration.  If they do not select this box on our registration page confirming that they have read/understood and agree to these terms they cannot complete their registration.  [redacted] registered and paid herself online for all of the courses she is referencing.  Please see our attached terms of use that is published on our website, that she agreed to at the time of registration.  The terms of use ALSO is sent out with the course receipt that [redacted] is referencing that she has received.  We have regulations and rules to provide these courses. This is necessary for us to plan the courses accordingly assuring that they are a success and delivered in a professional matter.  Attached you will also find [redacted]'s correspondence from attending previous courses with us, indicating her pleasurable experience.  Because of [redacted]'s extenuating circumstance (and AGAINST what our terms of use outlines as our policies) we decided to waiver and allow her to reschedule her course, not once, but twice and transferred her fees to the other courses she rescheduled.  We do not allow reschedules typically but we were trying to work out the situation for [redacted] to allow her to attend a course.  She called our office and was rescheduled both of February 5th and February 11th of 2016.  After both of these reschedules is when she notified our office requesting a refund.  Please view our terms of use for our refund policy. https://www.aphed.com/terms-of-use     [redacted] has called our office repeatedly, yelling obscenities at our customer service representatives, hanging up on them and then calling back numerous times to repeat the same.  We have tried to explain and talk with her, however a professional conversation was not possible.  We apologize that [redacted] is upset however, we have done all we can to try and accommodate her special circumstances and feel that we have already gone above and beyond what we would normally do to try and reschedule her course that she has cancelled several times.

Each participant to a class agrees to the attached terms, which they either agree by clicking during their online registration or are told when they register by telephone.  We have gone above and beyond by offering that she can either transfer her date or transfer to another person....

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I did reschedule classes due, once because the company told me that there weren't enough people registered so the class was cancelled. The others were due to conflicts. I did call the company, upset and insisted on talking with the manager. I WAS angry, and don't remember using profane language. I DO remember stating I would take this further to the BB.I DID NOT REPEATEDLY CALL BACK WITH PROFANITIES and am appalled that the company has stated so. And as stated in my original complaint, I have ALWAYS enjoyed the classes this company has provided. It is sad that they have NO EMPATHY and can only think of the mighty dollar. I ADMIT that I did not read the fine print. My fault. BUT, it wasn't my intention to cancel either. At the time, my certifications were about to expire and I needed them to secure a travel contract.
AT this point, I am not comfortable to even recommend this company to anyone to use the monies owed much less EVER take another class from them. My life for the past year has been stressful enough.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This business again stated that they had no way of delivering book on time because the class was scheduled 6 days from the day I signed up. The problem I have with this is that they still took the money for the book even though they knew they were never going to mail it. They never even attempted mailing it. The class was rescheduled for the following Sat which gives them an additional 3 days for the book to arrive. THEY NEVER SENT IT. Their instructions ( the ones they sent me in the email specifically state case scenarios and pre test have to be completed PRIOR to coming to class. What is the use for the book on the day of class for me then? ( they stated they will be providing me with the book on the day of class). They also stated they wanted me to come and pick it up: my home is 1 hour away from their office. This week was snowing all week and plus I work 12 hr shifts. There was no way I could drive there to pick up the book. I feel like it is unreasonable to ask people to complete the assigned tasks in the book prior to coming to class when the assignments are IN THE BOOK THEY ARE GIVING YOU ON THE DAY OF CLASS. When I signed up for the book and class no where on those screens did it says they will not refund the book if it does not get to you on time or does it say they will give it to in class otherwise noone would get it. The book costs $50. They keep claiming I yelled at someone. I called multiple times and threatened they say. That is simply not true. Lets stick to the facts here. I did call multiple times and spoke to 2-3 people but that was because the first time I was disconnected. The second time I could not come to any kind of agreement with the representatives I asked to speak to the owner or supervisor, which they persistently tried to deter me from, and the third  one of the ladies hung up on me because she stated I was yelling at her, when initially she said she could not hear me  and the reception was poor. I'm a well respected registered nurse in WI who holds license in more then 30other states. I would never jeopardize my career for foolish stuff they claim I did. I'm not aware of any proceedings filed against me. If law enforcement was truly contacted then I challenge them to show me proof. I'm curious to know what grounds they have to contact law enforcement.  I have never been to their premises. I have not called them since they contacted my employer and slandered me like they are doing now. This is just another attempt to discredit me so they would not have to refund the money they decided to keep. Under all circumstances, obviously I would not feel comfortable going to class with this company. After all is said and done, I do not trust them. And they stated they did not want me in the class. So we agree on something but that does not mean they get to keep my money. After they called my employer and slandered me I offered to sit down with the company's representative and my boss and have  a discussion about the matter to see if we can come to the agreement. My boss told me they did not want to speak to me. They know I would request a refund.  And to conclude, I'm not the only one who has had issues with these people. As I was reading over other complaints I noticed another one of their customers had requested a refund for a different matter and the scenario went fairly similar. They stated she was rude. She yelled profanities at their staff and kept calling and hanging up. It seems like discrediting their customers is the only ways they know how to deal with customers who call them out on their shady practices. You have to keep in mind that customers who filed these complaints are good natured people : first responders and nurses. We sacrifice our own well being to help others. We have a good sense of what is right and wrong. This company is a bad example of business entity.

I have been unemployed since March 5th, 2015. My unemployment ran out months ago. I have been searching for local work to stay home with my disabled husband, unsuccessfully until 2 weeks ago. Before I secured the position I start on 2/29/2016, My husband and I decided I had to go back to work as a travel nurse because we have tapped our savings and I need to bring in income. In order to do this, I needed my ACLS and PALS renewed before the end of Feb. Since I secured a permanent position locally, I do not need these certifications. I have no way of selling these classes off to someone else and will not need any of this companies services at any time in the near and distant future. We need the $270.00 for daily living expenses until we can build up our savings again. I will be 61 and my husband will be 64 and was to retire next year.

This customer signed up for a Pediatric Advanced Life Support renewal class with a textbook, as she described in her statement. Our policy, as outlined on our website or explained by a representative when calling our office, is to not ship the textbook when the class is fewer than 7 days away, as we...

cannot guarantee the participant will receive it in time for the class. In these circumstances, we hold the book and provide it to the participant at the class. It was explained to the customer that she could come to the office to pick up the textbook. The participant chose to yell into the telephone at one of our representatives that she did not have time to come to pick up a book and instead wanted a full refund for her class and textbook. We do not provide refunds for cancelled classes, as outlined in our policies. It was offered to the participant that she could move to another class once without being charged an additional time. She proceeded to continue to yell at our representative. After being yelled at by the customer for several minutes,, our representative informed the customer that if she would not be calm and allow her to speak, she would have no choice but to hang up, and when the customer yelled more, she disconnected the call, as the customer was not allowing our representative to speak or answer questions. After the way this customer treated our office staff, the manager instructed the representatives to not answer her repeated calls.  We contacted law enforcement to make them aware of how our staff were treated. We were advised by law enforcement to contact them back if this customer came onto our premise and to not make contact with her again.Per our Terms of Use, which are attached, we do not provide refunds. Had the customer signed up for the class with more notice, she would have received a textbook before, but as she did not behave in a professional manner and law enforcement had to be involved, we will not allow her to participate in a class with our organization. We have a long-standing relationship with many organizations in Wisconsin. We treat all of our customers and employees with respect. If our employees are not treated with respect, we do authorize them to disconnect calls. In this particular circumstance, law enforcement supported our decision.

Each participant to a class agrees to the attached terms, which they either agree by clicking during their online registration or are told when they register by telephone.  We have gone above and beyond by offering that she can either transfer her date or transfer to another person....

Unfortunately, we do not refund. Here are the terms she has agreed to, as posted on our website and emailed to participants when registering:
