Review: Applied for a mortgage modification loan ... paid $4,000.00..... became ill and was unable to complete process. Requested a refund only to find out the company has gone out of business.Desired Settlement: Funds returned
Review: I enlisted the help of APN to explore the possibility of a loan modification. Due to divorce, my credit took a huge hit and when I came along this program, it seemed worth a shot. After months of providing weekly documentation, I was denied. They did not guarantee approval however, the $835.00 they deducted monthly from my checking account (4 payments) was to be put in a suspense account and refunded if modification was denied or applied toward mortgage if approved. Since I received denial, no one will return a communication or a phone call. After the fact, I read reviews on APN and it appears this is not the first time this has happened. Can you help me?Desired Settlement: The total amount of $3,340.00 (4 monthly payments of $835.00.

We are reaching client to resolve this manner and as you can read on his statement APN did not guarantee any results. APN is just a screening company and forwards the paperwork to the right department for them to get the best result.
Also APN has decided not to continue these kind of services any longer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
It was made very clear to me that there was no guarantee that a loan modification would be approved. It was not stated that the monies given to them were for payment of their services. It was referenced as holding in a suspense account & then applied to mortgage. I have read many other complaints that state the same situation.
