Dr. [redacted] works for this corporation at VanMatre Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Rockford, IL. Dr. [redacted] took care of this patient 6/18/XXXX - X/23/2012 at VanMatre. There was a clerical error which sent this very old bill to the patient. This would have been clarified had the POA contacted the office. The POA stated that she called but she never left a message with the answering machine which clearly states: " you have reached the offices of Advanced Rehabilitation Medicine Ltd.". We received the bill, dated 4/22/2014, which asked, "why 2 years later?" on May 2, 2014. I was investigating this when we received the BBB complaint on May 8, 2014. We should have been given the opportunity to clarify this issue without it going to the BBB. If the POA looked up the medical corporation at: Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation she would have seen the St. Charles address and had she googled [redacted] ***, MD she would have seen Dr. ***'s affiliation with [redacted] where the patient was cared for by Dr. ***. I have personally spoken with the POA and explained the billing error and we respectfully request that the complaint be withdrawn immediately.
