Review: Failure to repair spa; incomplete and shoddy work to repair spa; failure to honor confirmed follow up appointment to complete work and repair spa.
I contacted Advanced Spa Repair bus. lic. #XXXXXX cont. lic #XXXXXX at their business phone 916-486-9128 to repair our nonworking spa and get it in full working order. [redacted], wife of owner [redacted], answered by identifying their business name and scheduled the repair for 8/24/13 between 10:00am-noon. Mr. [redacted] showed up at 11:45 on same date. The spa is outdoors and Mr. [redacted] made comments about it being unhealthy to work on the spa because of the rat mess inside the casing where he needed to work. Ms. [redacted] had told me to leave the water in it but gave no further instructions. Further, messes are an inherent condition for the chosen profession. It was clear he didn't want to perform the job, was there a short time and did the minimum to get it working. He replaced a fuse and put a piece of black electrical tape to connect a wire that was broken. We were charged the minimum $100 paid by check. He did not repair the spa or fix the controls or lights to the controls. That evening, I attmepted to turn on the spa. It started for about two seconds and quit.
We scheduled a follow up appointment with Mr. [redacted] through Ms. [redacted] for 8/31/13 10:00am-noon. He did not show and I called their business phone at 12:10pm and spoke with Ms. [redacted] asking if her husband was coming to the appointment. She said he was scheduled to come but had another appointment ahead of us in Elk Grove (the area we live in). I asked her to call me back or have him call me to inform me when he would arrive. She said she would call him. I received no return call. I called their business phone at 1:30pm and left a voice message asking whether he was coming and to call me. I never received a response.
On 9/12/13 via email and mail, I offered them to refund the $100 to close the matter or I would file complaints, write negative reviews and seek money damages. I have not received a refund or response.Desired Settlement: $100 refund and for complaint to remain on the business' record.
