Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Our patient, Ms***, was treated and happy with the treatment she received. At the time of her first visit, we called her insurance company as a courtesy to verify her insurance company as a courtesy to verify her insurance
benefits, co-pay, etc., and gave her the information we were given. We were told that she has a 15% co-ins, which equals $9.00/visit. When her insurance company processed her clams, the explanation of benefits (EOB) came back to us (and her) showing a $co-pay. As a result, she had a balance of $233.00. We are obligated by our contract with her insurance company to collect this balance.All of this was explained to Ms*** on her first visit - we simply cannot guarantee the information we are given by her insurance company. In addition, she signed a statement acknowledging this fact (attached).We entered the first EOB on 8/23/and Ms*** was advised of the change. She also would have received her copies of the EOSs directly from her insurance company showing the difference in her co-pay at least to weeks prior to our entry on 8/23/17. There was one claim that her insurance company processed incorrectly. We went back to the insurance company and the claim was reprocessed correctly on 11/13/to her benefit.In short, we are very sorry for any confusion on the part of Ms***, but we are unable to make any adjustment to her account
