Working with Patrick at Advantage Brands was a joy. We had a very small window to complete the project and it was done within the time frame and the quoted price. Patrick also came with very good ideas for the pergola around our patio. We are very pleasedand happy with this company and would recommend them to anyone.

This is from an order from April 2013 (almost 4 years ago) and shouldn't even be a complaint or negative review but the story is that [redacted] ordered a free-standing patio cover and was explained at the time that all projects require a permit and how much more it would be to attain one. She...

chose not to get a permit and pay the additional cost, maybe because their neighbor directly behind them already had something similar, and signed the order accepting responsibility. As it was and is always explained, it is ultimately the homeowners responsibility to get a permit and we are more than happy to attain one at the additional cost of engineering, footing inspections, and the cost of the permit itself – also there are many jobs that don’t even require one depending on city and size. Almost 4 years had passed without any problems of product or service and I got a call from [redacted] (whom I had never met) that they got a citation and expecting us to take care of and pay for their permit. I let him know that they chose not to get one at the time of order and they would just have to pay for it now which he obviously was not happy with. I helped him numerous times along the way on securing one, who to get in touch with, what to do, etc., all free of charge and even got a text at the end saying, and I quote, “They did a great job. Thank you and sorry that we had to go through this. I would still refer you to friends and acquaintances. Thanks.” In the end, all they paid for was the permit they never got to begin with and the concrete (for the footers) that they would have paid for initially as well. Their order actually 4/20/13 and we have all documentation, etc. to prove it and can send upon request. Again, in 11 years of business we’ve never received a complaint and with this 4-year old order being the first and not even something related to poor workmanship, service or product, we ask this not foul our rating.
