Advantage Lawn & Landscaping Reviews (1)

Review: It started with a conversation that I had with [redacted], their General Manager on Friday, April 25th to inquire about landscape services of bed cleanup, mulching (using black mulch) around perimeter of house, and edging. I selected them over my usual landscaping contractor ([redacted]) simply because [redacted] had informed me that the work could get done that coming Tuesday, April 29th, weather permitting of course. It was made clear and a verbal agreement was in place to get it done on or before Friday, May 11th at the very latest because we were holding a birthday party outside for our son that is turning 2. Well, weather did impact the original Tuesday deadline, and I ended up calling him several times where he finally agreed verbally over the phone to having it completed on Tuesday, May 6th. Well, I got home only to see it hadn't been done. I called [redacted] directly on his work cell several teams leaving messages that went unreturned. Finally I called the shop several times on Wednesday, May 7th to get an update on the schedule, and when I could expect it completed. [redacted], a customer service rep there (she's only been on the job 2-3 weeks) got a hold of [redacted] who met with the owner to discuss that same day. Well [redacted] returned a call to me about an hour later to inform me that [redacted] informed the owner he made no such promise (which is false), and had [redacted] do his dirty work by telling me that they weren't going to be able to complete by the originally promised date. This infuriated me, simply because 1- we agreed to this verbally that it would be done by a specific hard date that I had laid out, and was the "only" reason for me selecting them to do the work, 2- They waited until the end of the week, and 72 hours before the date I needed it completed by to tell me it wouldn't be done, which now leaves me scrambling to figure out what to do before the party, and 3- [redacted] had the audacity to punt this over to a newly trained customer service rep to explain that they wouldn't fulfill the agreement that he promised to, knowing that I would be extremly upset after hearing the news. [redacted] and the owner obviously do not care about small jobs like mine, nor honoring their agreements. I finally recevied a call in the early evening wtih a possible solution to having them get it done before the 11th, but only if I used "brown mulch", which I specifically said we have only used black mulch in the past, and that what we prefer to go with. [redacted] then went on to say with that type of inflexiblity, they wouldn't be able to do it. I asked him if they could get their vendor that provides the mulch to deliver to my house, and just have their guys come over to do the work since they didn't have the time to pick up the black mulch with their backlog on other jobs. He indicated that he would try to make this work, and get back to me that same evening or tomorrow early. Well, I've left him messages again on Thursday, May 8th with good times to call me that day, and have not heard back. This is extremely unprofessional, and I'm really disgusted with both the owner and [redacted]. They have very bad business practices, especially in their business of servicing the customer.Desired Settlement: I would like them to complete the job that [redacted] had agreed to verbally on Friday, April 25th. Now that its Thursday, May 8th with a party that starts on Sunday, May 11th where it needs to be done by, I'm not sure it can. With this situation, I'm now sure what the desired outcome is, other than this is made public knowledge, and advertised all over for their inability to fulfill agreements they enter into.
