Your response is in direct difference to what the conversation I had with your phone rep Lorraine I was told that I could pay After the job was completed How many businesses demand full payment prior to the job being done I've never run into one, other then Gutter Guys, in my years of life I do not accept your resolution and I guess I will need to take this up with my credit card provider to see what help I can get from them. What happens if one of your on job employees has a injury and the job isn't completed in the visit? Sorry Tom but Lorraine said something different times over the phone I was told I could pay after the job was completed and personally I don't see what difference it makes if somebody is at home or not Lorraine was told I was going to pay by credit card after the job was completed and I also believe I said as much on the signed contract, that gives you full remedies for getting paid if a credit card and number wasn't forthcoming. Customer service doesn't appear to be a strong point I set this up right from the start to pay for the job after the job was completed which I believe is a industry standard but not the Gutter Guys

The Gutter Guys takes customer service very seriously as attested to by our being in business since 1988 and over 300,000 satisfied customers. We appreciate the opportunity that the customer gave us to provide a solution to his gutter repair.  We try hard to exceed customer expectations but...

unfortunately in this case we did not.  The number one complaint in home improvement business is miscommunication and that seems to be the issue here.  The customer has no issue with the work we provided, his issue is with our method of payment.  As a small business we do not offer financing or billing arrangements on small jobs to non owner occupied residential homes with out prior credit approval.  When our office called to schedule the job to be completed we indicated at that time that someone would have to be at property to make payment or a credit-card would have to be used for payment. We do jobs every day and it is never an issue. We have found from past experiences that it is very difficult and expensive to collect payment after the job is completed, we did not take any deposit or payment prior to arrival to complete the job. When our installation crew arrived at the job site the property owner was called  again as no one was at the job site to pay and indicated we would need to process the payment and the property owner gave his credit-card information and we completed the job as requested. The property owner had the right to not like our payment policy and go with another service provider but he choose to have us complete the work.  Now that the work has been completed he is complaining because he does not want to pay on our terms but on his terms which we did not agree to.  We feel that property owner received a quality job at the price he agreed to and paid and no credit will be given.  Thank youTom RThe Gutter Guys

Revdex.com:I didn't expect the business to respond I just wanted to have something on record for people to refer to when looking for a moving company not to use Advantage.

Review: Advantage Moving and Storage (referred to as Advantage) violated the contract that I had with them. I was charged a large fee of $7,400.00 to have an 'exclusive truck' deliver my belongings during my move. This fee also includes a fee of $2,000 which I paid to All Around Moving Services (referred to as All Around), a moving broker which assigned Advantage to my move. I specifically told Advantage that according to the contract other people's belongings are not to be in the same truck as our belongings. However, Advantage violated the contract anyway by switching our belongings to another truck which had three other family's belongings in the truck without our permission or even notification. I found this out upon delivery. They lied to me and told me that it was only the driver's belongings that were in the truck. However, I confirmed that there were three other familys belongings in the truck with All Around. I have attempted to resolve this matter with both All Around and Advantage. All Around has responded with an investigation and has found my statements to be true. They have offered me a refund of an amount equal to whatever percentage Advantage refunds me after payment and they have attempted to resolve this matter with Advantage for me. Advantage has admitted fault in the matter, but was only willing to give me a refund of five percent and refuses to comply with my request of a 50% percent refund. I have also attempted to directly resolve this matter myself with the owner of Advantage. He repeated the same lies as the driver did upon delivery of my belongings. I told him the truth was confirmed by All Around, as well as the owners confession to All Around that Advantage made a mistake. When I also questioned him about what standards did he use in order to come to a figure of only a five percent refund, he increased his offer to only a refund of 7.5%, but he now refuses to have any further correspondence with me if I do not do what he says and accept his offer.According to industry standards, I was charged double for the service performed. A 'non-exclusive truck' was used instead of an 'exclusive truck' when I paid double for an 'exclusive truck.' In addition, due to the unauthorized switch of trucks, my belongings were not delivered within the timeframe of 48 72 hours which was specified in the contract. I informed the owner of Advantage of this, but he refuses to correspond with me anymore. He instead says that he will only deal with me in writing by certified mail with his claims department. Therefore, I would like to receive a 50% refund from Advantage Moving and Storage for violating the contract and providing me with usage of a 'non-exclusive truck' when I paid double for the usage of an 'exclusive truck' and for not delivering my belongings in accordance with the timeframe provided within the contractual agreement. As I have stated before, All Around Moving Services has already agreed to refund me whatever percentage Advantage refunds me after payment.Desired Settlement: Therefore, I would like to receive a 50% refund from Advantage Moving and Storage for violating the contract and providing me with usage of a 'non-exclusive truck' when I paid double for the usage of an 'exclusive truck' and for not delivering my belongings in accordance with the timeframe provided within the contractual agreement. Response:

Dear [redacted];

Let me first express my regret that this unfortunate situation has reached the point of having to involve your organization to assist in resolving. In an effort to not further inflame the situation I will keep my response brief. I will first describe my version of the situation, the steps we have taken to resolve it, and what I propose going forward.

1. We never had an agreement written or otherwise with this shipper. Our agreement was with All Around Moving (a broker), our contract with this shipper never agrees to any exclusive use of vehicle or other special services. So in principal I object to a complaint from this shipper based on the grounds that you will not find any written agreement between us other than the bill of lading which does not describe any special services. Her complaint should be with "All Around"not us. So I would ask that this complaint be immediately stricken from our record

2. Our version of events are as follows: We arrived on 8/**/13 to pick up shipment, immediately we had mechanical issues with the truck (beyond our control), which we spent the day trying to resolve. This caused delays in the loading of the shipment. Due to the mechanical issues we had to move shipment from original truck to a replacement, this was done with all parties best interest in mind, and was the most responsible thing to

do. We immediately left for Florida. We were in Florida prior to the arrival of the shipper and the driver had a personal commitment to pick up items from a relatives house who was in the process of moving. Had the shipper been there for delivery we would of delivered her first than gone to the pick up. When the shipper finally arrived she called our driver (at 2am), and asked for immediate delivery which we accommodated. The shipper received all that was promised and the idea that this was anything but a direct delivery is simply not true. The shipper contends her refund is based on industry standards, (I assume that is for a consolidated shipment), which is unfounded because consolidated delivery to Florida takes 1-3 weeks and her shipment was received in 2 days. You can not expect to pay for consolidated shipping when you received your items in2 days.

3. Additionally the information she is receiving from All Around is pure fabrication, invented by All Around and based on an ongoing dispute between All Around and Advantage.

4. Based on this information we believe a 7.5% discount from us is very fair, and if she feels she is entitled to more she should take it up with the broker with whom she had the contract with.

5. We are willing to negotiate and let the Revdex.com arbitrate this dispute. We are willing to accept some fault because other items were on the truck at the time of delivery, although the shipment was never part of any consolidated delivery. Also, that we bad delays in loading and had to switch trucks (although this issue was beyond our control and done in all parties best interest). We are not willing to agree this was anything less than an express delivery and that a premium rate must be charged for this service.

6. Any refunds from us will require a certified letter from shipper agreeing to refund amount and will take 30-60 days to be paid.

Finally, l left a message on your voicemail with my direct phone# please contact me asap regarding the incorrect listing information for Advantage Moving that is listed on your website.

Thank you.

Review: we contracted advantage moving to move from south river, nj to bolivia north carolina

our items were picked up in a rental truck by 4 men/they packed most of the large items

and seemed to know what they were doing

we took extra insurance thru moving insurance.com which was recommended by the moving company

several of the large furniture items were damaged and need repair/we followed claim procedure however found added damage a few days after initial claim/we were told we will only get 309.20 back on the claim

and damaged were total 3846.74Desired Settlement: since the moving company did the damage and the insurance company is using technicalities to not pay the

claim in full I want a refund of the balance of repair/replacement of my damaged items

we were in our home for 43 years before retiring and moving and were not experienced in how the process worked

As [redacted] mentioned in his statement he purchased insurance through [redacted] ###-###-####, they will issue a settlement based on the documentation that is provided to them from shipper and Advantage Moving & Storage. There is no claim filed with Advantage Moving & Storage regarding this matter.

[Your Answer Here]

We did not accept the insurance company settlement the damages should be the movers Responsibilitythey offer the insurance that you pay extra for And then they get away with the damages their people causethe moving company is the problem

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Response:

Advantage Moving & Storage does not provide full replacement insurance for long distance shipments so yes we suggest moving insurance.com if they are interested in purchasing insurance. Our legal liability for lose and damage is .60 cents per pound per article. We will now confirm with [redacted] that [redacted] has denied the settlement offered and his file will be reviewed and we will forward a settlement offer to him within the next 2 weeks via certified mail.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because

The whole Moving Company and recommended insurance is a scam. No one else should be put through this pain and expense we have incurred. We should have never used this company but too late now. After your ites are delivered you must pay in full before the truck is unpacked. Then with nearly 100 boxes and a house full of funiture you must inspect and report within the insurance company guidelines. When we noticed damage on a Saturday no one answered calls at the moving company or the insurance company. We did reach someone on Monday and proceeded with the claim but during unpacking of boxes and moving furniture around in the house found additional damage. Due to not reporting immediately we were not allowed to add to the initial claim. This is unfair to the consumer. We still hold the mover liable for the damage. However since Advantage Movers ae the frontmen and an unmarked rental truck shows up with 4 men not in company uniforms and billing went to MD movers we think Advantage Movers should be blackballed from doing businessWe are ultimately left holding the bills and having personal items damaged, some beyond repair or replacement. As this has been going on for 4 months can'tthe Revdex.com step in for us. We did not accept insurance settlement because it was well below the claimed amount and if we accepted we will need to sign a waiver to not post any negative remarks on the internet. we would also not be able to put any further claim on the mover or insurance company. please help us if you can [redacted]

Review: First - Original quote by mover contrasted quote on site when company came to pick up belongings. Original quote was $500. On site I was required to sign a contract that stated the moving fee would be $125/hour plus $30 tolls each way for the truck to get to my place and back to its headquarters. I never received a copy of this contract. Second - A shakedown by the foreman, [redacted], for funds not due based on a two hour moving time. This included extreme harassment (I, a woman alone, he - a larger man in my face), mishandling of personal items (cart and boxes shoved on street when he demanded more money), lost/stolen goods ([redacted] and his team left the scene and remaining boxes on side street which were stolen while I dealt with police, and went to hospital for extremely bruised hand that was first thought to be broken). When I called customer service rep [redacted] - he was entirely unsympathetic only asking if there were witnesses. Further follow up went no where. Items lost/stolen included an iPad, clothing, and valuable financial records.Desired Settlement: Ideally I would like a refund, a letter of apology, and a record with the Revdex.com. Their illegitimate business practices should be on file - they operate through very shady practices.

Response:

Thank you for taking the time to forward this complaint to us and bringing it to my attention. Please let this client know that I am extremely sorry for any problems that may have occurred during her move and I will work diligently to bring this unfortunate situation to a conclusion.

At this time I would ask that all documentation from this move be forwarded to my attention, specifically the written estimate and the bill of lading. We have had some computer issues which are preventing me from verifying this client and her move.

Thank you

Sincerely,

Advantage Moving and Storage

Review: moving company damaged 2 walls and lost a bureau told me to file a claim to a person at heir location sent pictures and a letter telling them what happen mailed everything certified in July never heard back from themDesired Settlement: I want to be paid for the bureau and the walls repaired

Business

Response:

[redacted] purchased insurance with a third party company called Moving Insurance.com ###-###-####, they are reviewing her and upon completion will provide a settlement with [redacted]. Moving Insurance.com will then allocate any responsibility that Advantage Moving & Storage, Inc has regarding claim and will settle with us directly.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I have damage too 2 walls that are in need of repair along and I am not paying a 100.00 walls which is what the complex charges. Also, just because I purchased additional insurance it was my understanding that they are still responsible for the .60 cents on the pound for the missing bureau

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

Advantage Moving & Storage will contact [redacted] via certified mail to inquire about the damage to the wall and see if we can agree on a settlement to resolve this issue

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution it is in my best interest to accept their offer so I will reply to them certified mail and will see if they honor the settlement for now it has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: This company has a very appropriate name except they are the ones who take "Advantage". I was told the movers by the representative '[redacted]' by phone two nights before the move that the movers would arrive @ 12-12:30pm on 2/**/15, not to worry. The movers didn't arrive until 2 pm and when I called to check why they were late he told a lie and accused me of lying about the scheduled time. The movers were good @ their job but it took them longer than the set time because they had to go back and get four more pieces of furniture. You see their truck wasn't big enough, compliments of '[redacted]'.. In fact it was more of a van than a moving truck, equipped to move less than a one bedroom apt. complete with boxes. Very irresponsible and discourteous.Desired Settlement: I don't know that I can get anything from them since they only accepted cash. A shyster company if I ever heard of one. I paid them $70 per hour times 4 1/2 hours.

Consumer

Response:

I didn't expect the business to respond I just wanted to have something on record for people to refer to when looking for a moving company not to use Advantage.
