Review: I engaged Advantage Plumbing % Heating (AP&H) in 2006 to do all utility work on our retirement log home. In the last 6 months, a gurgling sound developed and I ask AP&H to come out and address the issue as the home is now For Sale. They did, charged me $466 and did not solve the problem. I paid the bill and notified them that the results were not satisfactory by phone. Neither [redacted] nor [redacted] responded. I waited 2 days and called another plumber who research 2 issues and determined the cause in 2 hours. The second plumber determined that almost all of the work that AP&H performed was unnecessary and that some of the work that they charged me for could not have been properly or professionally performed. Additionally, a "below grade drain system" installed in 2006 began leaking in 2008 when I finished and installed a lower level shower. [redacted] of AP&H maintained that groundwater leaking into the grinder pump pit in the lower level was caused by my installing the shower incorrectly. The second plumber assisted in removing the drain system, and determined that a 2"PVC was cut at a 5/8" angle, thus making a water tight seal impossible. A properly measured and installed PVC pipe solved the problem.

I have sent AP&H numerous register mail letters seeking a refund of their bill AND $865 fee for the second plumber. They did not reply. I called them several times and finally was able to locate [redacted] (the President) who acknowledged receipt but no urgency in addressing. Later, [redacted] called and denied that they were responsible for not fixing the issue. He claims, "We did the labor and did what we thought was right." In fact, according to the second plumber, the work they did was the exact opposite of what was required.Desired Settlement: $466 + $865. = $1331. This does not include any charges for approximately 12 hours of labor expended by the homeowner.
