Advenir At Gateway Lakes

Gateway Lakes rented a filthy apartment to me that had a broken refrigerator, shower, and toilet and they did not respond dozens of service requests.
The apartment that was rented to me in August was filthy: the refrigerator was filled with mold, the air conditioning unit was filled with mold, slime, and thick, caked on dust, the dishwasher had hair and caked on food around the bottom, the shower had mold, grime, and rust all over, the windows were filthy with finger marks and dead bugs surrounding the borders, the floor had several gummy black spots and smoke burn marks, the vents were filled with dust, the blinds had animal bite marks on several of the plastic parts, the breakfast bar was wobbly and easily could fall off with minimal weight on it, the washing machine and dryer had black gummy spots and lint inside, the closet shelf could not support weight and after a few weeks broke, the porch had a large, black area about the size of 3 dinner plates, the kitchen shelves had gummy spots, food, and scrapped parts, the oven was not properly cleaned, the molding on the bottom was missing in some areas, the refrigerator, toilet, and air conditioner emptied water that pooled onto the floor everyday, etc.

Service issues that were not addressed:
My shower handle broke one week after moving in. It was fixed but broke again, this time making it unable to shut off all of the way but not turn on enough to take a shower. The issue was reported to management on a Wednesday. The water continued to run for 5 straight days. No one came to turn in off despite the fact that I called several times, wrote several emails, and even sent video and pictures. During this time, I also could not take a shower. It was the only bath/shower in the apartment. When management and maintenance finally came after FIVE days, I was informed that not only would I be charged the fee for the water but that all of the tenants in the building would, as well.

My refrigerator broke on a Wednesday night. I promptly called the emergency number for repair. When I came home from work the next day at 6 pm, I found the entire refrigerator defrosted with water all over the floor. I had to throw away everything in the refrigerator. No one came to fix the refrigerator until Friday (too late! my food was spoiled)! The maintenance team brought a different refrigerator and took out the old one. But the different refrigerator had several food spots, hair, and 4 significantly cracked drawers. This refrigerator also leaked water and water would pool up on the floor everyday just like the old one.

The valet trash service (which no one mentioned until I got my first rent bill) did not pick up every time on the days indicated on schedule.

The grounds of Gateway is disgusting. There is dog poop everywhere, making walking in the grass impossible. The hallways are filled with dead bugs and trash. The trash areas are overflowing and trash left out around the parking areas.

I have all of this (and more) documented in emails, videos, and pictures. I have created a portfolio of my awful 10 weeks at Gateway. It has created such stress and anxiety that my doctor recommended moving. I have a child with autism that is coming home for two day visit and I could not have him go to a place where everything was broken and dirty. He missed his first visit home because I did not have a shower. This is unacceptable. I moved into an expensive apartment so that all of the upkeep would be taken care of. One of the big reasons for this is so that my child could have monthly visits at home without me having to worry.
