I want to pass on my experience with "A.D.W Mainland Heat and AC" installing a replacement Hot Water tank in my house just recently. First off I'd like to say that the actual Installer of my hot water tank was a great guy. Pleasant and friendly. The guy working the phones in the office, not so much. In my opinion there was a definite lack of communication and poor customer service. Here's my experience. I called around and got several quotes first and decided on Mainland to do the job. After the install was done, I found out the final charges were more than what was quoted due to a few small pieces of tubing that were added. (There was no communication about this possibility during the quote). I don't even mention it because the charges were small and it is the nature of a quote sometimes. Next, I find out that I cannot pay with a credit card (There was no communication about this when quoted or scheduling the appointment). Luckily I had a spare cheque book in the house, cause I sure didn't have the cash in my wallet. Turns out the new tank would supply me with only a 5 minute shower before getting lukewarm. I called them to repair/replace unit. I took some more time off work to have an inspector come to see if the hot and cold lines were reversed (could have taken a picture and sent it via email just as easily). He said the office would contact me to schedule a time/day. I waited a few days for them to call me, but nothing, so I called to book the appointment (would have been nice not to have to 'chase' them). The day arrives, the installer removes the faulty one and install a new one, all within 1 hour. That's when I find out there is going to be a labour charge! (There was no communication about this during my 'warranty' call or inspection). For replacing the faulty tank that they installed less than a month earlier, they wanted me to pay hundreds of dollars more! So I called the office to discuss this and I was told that "it goes without saying" there would be a labour charge (WOW. Definitely no communication there)!! I'm an easy going guy but that's just crazy. At the very least, you should tell me before doing the work, and let me make a decision if I want to go ahead with it or not. Definitely not AFTER the work has been performed. The office guy starts raising his voice, and the call quickly escalates to a yelling match that's going nowhere so I say goodbye and hang-up. I let a few days go by before I call the office back and ask to talk with someone else regarding the subject. I review the situation with this new contact person and we come to an agreement on the price and I send them payment (even though I still felt like I'm getting ripped off). Beware of any company that won't stand behind the products they sell. And steer clear of ones that don't handle their customers with a level of professionalism. If I were you, I'd stay far away from "A.D.W Mainland Heat and AC".

Meet this company at the Maple Ridge Home show.
Alex came out and gave a quote.
His team of men came out in July to install and new Furnace and Hot Water Tank.
They came back a week later and blew the vents clean. Home show promo.
Dave in the Office was Excellent to deal with as well. They Filed our $800 rebate with Fortis.
I Totally recommend this company. You wont be sorry if you go with there service.

Carrier 96% efficient furnace died Friday Nov 25/16. Called ADW Mainland because I knew I bought the furnace (and my hot water tank) from them and they had done the previous maintenance checks (but not for a few years). Repairman came out immediately. Said "Error Code 41", blower problem, means the heat exchanger has blown. Said no, you did not buy this from us, the sticker on the furnace says [redacted] and they've gone bankrupt. Said Carrier is terrible, settled a class action lawsuit, they don't cover warranty on these, repair would be at least $2500 and we've put in 3 replacement heat exchangers which failed immediately. Said I need a new furnace, that American Standard is better, it will be $4400 plus tax and I can get it installed the next day. I said I don't have access to $4400 plus tax overnight and he said if I can pay cash, they'll pay the tax themselves (or they will provide 2 years free maintenance checks). I said go ahead, I'll find the money somehow, it's freezing and I need heat. Next morning, I check the internet, call Carrier, find out they have extended the warranty on problem furnaces. They need the serial number. I call ADW Mainland and cancel the installation because I have to try and find out if Carrier will be of assistance. I find the original receipt (and yes, I did too buy it from ADW Mainland for $4600 on Nov 26, 2002, so the furnace died on its 14th birthday). Carrier recommended their authorized repair company. Their repairman came and said there is no Error Code 41, it's Error Code 34. No blower problem, no heat exchanger problem, it's the computer motherboard. New board installed, furnace fires up, house is warm in an hour. Total cost for service calls, parts and labour is less than $900. I will never allow ADW Mainland in my home again.
