To Whom It May Concern: Our office is an Asset Management company that specializes in Multi FamilyThe above mentioned property is an apartment complex that has structures on a lotOne unit and the other building is unitsThe subject building above is the rear building and there is a
front building facing 4th street that is ***Our office is responsible for scheduling the repairs with the contractorsWe were fully aware of the construction project that was scheduled and formally notified all the tenants at the property via email and via phone and or voicemailUnfortunately, the contractors miss informed us of the address (correct building) that needed to be notifiedWe notified *** not *** causing Mrs***’s unawareness of the denied access to her unit at the time of construction (see email enclosed)Contractors are instructed to knock on the doors and make sure tenants are advised that construction is commencingThis is why our contractors started constructionAt no time was she trapped in her unit or exposed to an unsafe stairwellThe inconvenience she reported was her inability to access her unit due to the reconstruction of the stair case leading to her unitShe repeatedly dialed our number and did not leave a messageOur system is designed to alert our cell phones of messages that are left due to missed callsThis means we receive the message in the form of an emailIf Mrs*** left a message, our office would of received her voice mail instantlyWe do not receive missed callsThe contractor on site was notified by Mrs*** of her concern and he contacted me immediatelyHe text me and I called him back immediatelyAt this time I asked him to have Mrs*** call my cell phone, and she did call me at 11:30amIt was approximately min that had gone by since she attempted to contact our office’s numberWhen I took Mrs***s call she was irate and extremely upset that she could not access her unitI explained that the stairwell was estimated to be completed within hour according to the contractorShe expressed she did not receive our email, I then apologized profusely and then asked if there was somewhere she can go in the meantimeShe said “absolutely not, I have no gas and have nowhere to go”I then asked what would she like for me to do? She requested a hotel room and I agreed immediatelyI then asked that she select a hotel and that I would arrange for paymentThe hotel contacted me and they requested my signature and credit cardI was not available at the time for signature however, I did provide my credit card over the phone and ask them please accept her intake while I provided a signature and they agreedThere was a hour lap time while the hotel and I can arrange a signature and the processing of my cardIn the Meantime, the hotel accommodated Mrs*** with an air conditioned room that provided a King size bed for her and her babyShe did not have to wait to access her room due my not being available for signatureWe were deeply apologetic that Mrs*** was inconvenienced while she needed access to her rental unitAt no time did we dismiss her distress and or neglected her needsThe Hotel took care of her accommodations while waiting for payment to be processed and the stair well was complete that day as promisedMrs*** was welcome to return to her home that night, yet she did spend the night in a cool, clean hotel room that our management company expensed just a few miles from her apartment

Yes we are fully aware of the discrepancy involving the notification of both buildings involved. Since the incident we have implemented a new policy that states the following: All large projects and or improvements are required to give a 72 hour notice to the tenants via email. Tenants are to confirm receipt of the email notification before construction is to begin. The tenant email will also include the scope of work involved and estimated time of completion

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
All documents supplied by Adept are showing notifications for the front building (Address [redacted] 4th st.). I live in the rear building ([redacted] 4th st.) and came home to no railings or handholds whatsoever on my stairs on July 20th, 2016. No notice was left with building [redacted] to inform us of additional work or that a complete tear down would be happening. Even after notifying [redacted], I received no notice or information regarding length of work being done or scope of work. Additionally, the hired contractors got paint on my and a neighbors vehicle and expressed to us that Adept didn't care about angry tenants or meeting our needs. All I want is to be informed of work being done, not walk in on work being done and then given excuses, so I can prepare and make any needed arrangements.
Regards,
