A.E. Greyson & Co. Inc. Reviews (2)

Review: AE Greyson was contracted to make home improvements in my apartment in 2011. They completed their work and the last payment was made in August/Sept 2012. There were two issues during the one year warranty period which they failed to address in spite of several reminders/emails.

a) Doors expanded/contracted causing them to look unsightly and some became sticky (therefore not closing) b) Living room pocket door would un-hinge/dislocate from the track and not close perfectly

In the summer (2013) AE Greyson contacted the subcontractor Knock on Wood to address the issue with the doors. After several canceled appointments KnockOnWood came and scarped some of the doors in October 2013. (They had advised that the issue would resolve by itself after one heating and cooling cycle, but it had not). They left the work incomplete after the half day's work and were to return the following day, but never did so. After several emails AE Greyson sent a [redacted] to simply touch up the doors (one coat of paint) that had the paint scraped off, in November 2013. The [redacted] advised they were unhappy with the sub-contractor KnockOnWood and were not dealing with them anymore. He did not address the issue with the other doors and the out-of-track pocket door. He assured that after yet another heating and cooling cycle, the problem with all the doors would most certainly go away.

However, the problem became much worse. Emails sent to AE Greyson (Nov 2013, Jan 2014, March 2014) regarding this were not replied to . I spoke to [redacted] at their office on March **, 2014 and she advised someone would get back to me. Another contractor was shown the problem who advised that the quality of the doors supplied was poor causing the issue (Expansion/contraction) .Desired Settlement: AE Greyson should resolve all these two issues that surfaced during the one-year warranty period with the doors (expansion/contraction and dislocating from track). I was mis-lead into agreeing to wait for a complete cooling and heating cycle (bringing me to the end of the one-year warranty period last year) and waiting has not resolved the issue like they said it would.
