We are in receipt of your letter regarding the referenced complaintAegis Builders constructed the home at *** *** St., Grand Terrace as part of a complex that included total homesShe closed her purchase on November 2, As you are aware, new homes typically have minor service issues
such as adjusting doors or even issues as simple as just explaining to new owners how a certain device or appliance worksAll the units were constructed at the same time using similar methodsWe have had more complaints from this owner than all the other owners put together. We do want them to be happy with their purchaseEvery complaint that they have raised has been responded to timely by usIn the plumbing issue she cited (a minor leak) we hired an outside plumber because our installation plumber was out of town and we wanted to get her issue resolvedThe other lingering issue she has is with sheet vinyl seams coming unglued in two areas (she is the only one in the complex with this problem)We know she uses a steam mop extensively and believe this is melting the glue (the flooring installers use heat to melt the glue when they want to lift the vinyl for a repair)The carpet installer went back and re-glued both areas again using a special water proof glueWe believe this should workNo matter what her anniversary date is, if it comes apart again we will go re-glue at least one more timeI don't know what else to doAs I said earlier, this is the only unit we have the problem in and the sheet goods and glue are the same everywhereYou are in the complaint resolution business, maybe you have a suggestion about how this should be handled? I am rejecting this response because:The Builders have sent a new sub contractor to once again re glue the seams of my vinyl sheet flooring. And, once again, the seams in my bathroom are coming unglued. I was told some time ago that the use of a steam mop might be the reason why the seams keep coming unglued, however, the seams were that way when we closed the purchase of our home on November 2, 2016. The sales rep. [redacted] brought this to our attention when we did the final walk through and this issue was placed on our home inspection check list of repairs or damages that needed to be fixed. So, as far as the use of a steam mop, Aegis Builder's receptionist, [redacted] is the only one that was aware of the use of one and when she suggested that this may be causing the problem, I stopped using it. So to say that I use a steam mop extensively, and that's causing the problem, is absurd. I am not the only one that has complaints towards the builders. Maybe my home has had the most problems or issues, but just about every home owner in this specific complex has had issues or problems in their homes, including the receptionist, [redacted] that also purchased a home from the builders.When my husband and I purchased our newly constructed home, we did not expect to have as many issues as we have had. We just want to be respected as home buyers from this company and have repairs in our home taken care of in a timely manner. As they have not always been. There has been times when we waited more than two weeks for repairs. I have been called hours before to make me aware that someone was coming to repair or replace and this has has been an inconvenience.I would like to have my floors repaired or all together replaced with better quality labor and or material.Thank you,Humbly Submitted,[redacted]
