The consumer owns a condominium in [redacted] Condominium (the "Association").  The Association is governed by a Board of Directors who are elected annually by and from among the consumers fellow owners in the Association.  It is this Board, not Aegis, who make all of...

the policy decisions for the Association.  In this matter, Aegis was contracted by the Association in December 2016.  We received 3 checks from the consumer in Jan 2017 and posted those check within 2 days of receipt.  These 3 checks brought the consumers account current.  After those Aegis mailed four separate notices to every owner of the correct mailing address between November 2016 and March 2017.  After those January checks, no further payments arrived for at least four additional months and 3 additional notices to the consumer directly.  It is possible that the consumer sent the payments to an incorrect address or simply neglected to send them.  But in either case, the Association has directed Aegis to take certain actions for owners who are delinquent in the payment of the assessments.  This includes the referral of the account to a third party collection agency (Alliance Smart Collections).  Aegis has never received any checks or payments from the consumer since the January 2017 so the claim that Aegis delays posting is inaccurate.  However, Alliance does show that they have received payments from the consumer and those payments may indeed be delayed to ensure there are sufficient funds.  They do this in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  If the consumer wishes to pursue a complaint against the collection company of the Association, those would be the appropriate parties to inquire with.
