We deny most of the claims made my Mrs. [redacted]. Plus we have the patient notes to prove it. Sheoriginally saw us for tooth pain and issues in her mouth. and issues with one of the teeth we recommended a Root Canal be done as well. She did notbelieve us so she went elsewhere for a second opinion. The second doctor agreed with my diagnosisand referred the patient to have the root canal performed. During the process of the root canaltreatment they had to drill through the bridge that we had placed. This is common practice but whendone it is of UTMOST importance that the hole they drill be filled right away. In my practice we do it onthe same day to avoid potential problems. Mrs. [redacted] waited almost 5 months to seek repair of thebridge. The reason for immediate repair of the bridge is if a hole is drilled through it bacteria, food, etc.can get into the inner parts of the tooth and cause future decay and weakening of the existing tooth.The person who did the Root canal only put a temporary filling in when typically are designed only tolast a week and give you time to get the repair done with a regular filling or Post. In Mrs. [redacted]scase they over prepared the root canal space thus significantly weakening the tooth. They should havetold her to get a post placed in the tooth ASAP and they may have and she doesn't remember. I was notthere. The tooth got weak, and thus it broke loose the bridge and she broke it in half. This is anextremely strong material and would not break unless something like this happened. I am notresponsible for this as she went somewhere else and they damaged my bridge and she did not have itrepaired asap and instead waited almost 5 months before attempting to have it fixed. In fact she waitedtill it broke. So it broke because of the next doctors work combined with her neglect. Neither are myfault. Had she listened to us and had treatment done in our office she would have been out of pain andhad the repair done same day. She went elsewhere and got shuffled around between doctors who didnot emphasize to her the importance of having it fixed after the root canal. That is the consequence ofseeking treatment like that.We are always happy to warranty any work we do when the patient stays with us and follows ourdirections. But when the patient chooses to not follow our directions or stay under our care then wecannot be held responsible for future issues. Especially when other doctors have worked on the bridgeand harmed our work. If the other doctor thinks it did not break from the Root canal then I would thinkthey do not understand physics or basic dentistry. That is just ludicrous and I don't believe anotherdentist would say that. At this point we will not warranty this work. We offered her a significant 50%discount to redo the bridge below cost in our office. This is a benefit we offer to our patientssometimes but she is seeking treatment elsewhere. We have a long long history of providing exceptioncare above the standard of care. We are known for our top quality work. If someone buys a new carand crashes it into a wall you can't hold the manufacturer responsible. That is basica lly what happenedhere.
