I was never her patient. Nor did I have an any unpaid bills. I just purchased products from her in early 2013. [redacted] was a medical patient with Adrienne E. Stewart, MD on September 10, 2013. She presented her insurance card, photo ID - drivers license, and completed New Patient forms. Although [redacted] was coming in for a medical appointment, she also brought Dr. Stewart office notes from another office where she had prior cosmetic procedures; for a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Stewart. She did sign and date, 9/10/13, on her New Patient form: “I agree to be responsible for any deductible, co-insurance, co-pay, or any other balance not paid by my insurance”. [redacted] submitted her insurance information, only, and did not pay a co-pay or any monies for her office visit. At the time her final insurance balance was unknown. Her 9/10/13 office visit billed at $291.00 to her insurance. Oct 16, 2013 her insurance paid $72.12 leaving a patient responsibility of $145.25. Our billing office, after sending [redacted] payment due statements, and delinquency notice, started billing a $10.00 finance charge in an attempt to get her to respond and pay for her bill. There have been 5 - $10.00 delinquent charges added to her account. The nature of her office visit required a specimen to be sent to one of the local labs we use. In checking with them she never paid their bill, never returned their phone calls and they turned her over to collections in 2014. Recently [redacted] has written complaints to BBB, Yelp, Face book, and DORA, claiming "Fraud" because she was "not a patient of Dr Stewart". Dr. Stewart does work with hardship patients, when applicable, but it has to start with some kind of communication. Effective communication is not 2-1/2 years later with postings on social media, (Face book, Yelp) BBB, Dora. Stating she was never a patient, using social media in posting negative comments is, sadly, using the internet to attempt to escape responsibility. We are basically shocked by this complaint and strenuously object to its veracity. Stephanie, please send back an acknowledgement that you have received this email.
