Review: I purchased a number of items from Afana Home Furniture on 1/25/2014 for delivery on 2/1/2014. The items purchased were a mattress, mattress base, bed, bedside cabinets and a rug that, in total, was $1,400. On 2/5/2014, the bed base ripped away from bed board causing the bed base to bend and collapse under the weight of the bed. We contacted the owner on 2/5/2014 requesting for a refund on the bed. The owner informed us they would have a look at the bed and fix it. We informed them we are not interested in the bed being fix or replaced because it was damaged within three days of it being delivered. We were told OK and they would collect the bed.Several attempts were made to get the bed picked up, via the phone, text and in person at the store. We requested a full refund, however,I was informed by the manager, per the stores policy, we would not be able to get a refund and was given $600 of store credit. The store credit was given on 4/7/2014 because I went into the store find out why the bed hasnt been picked up.On 5/27/2014 after yet again further failed attempts to have the bed pick up, I agreed to use the store credit to purchase dining table and chairs. We agreed on the table and chairs at the store on 5/27/2014 and was informed would take three days to be delivered (which would be 5/30/2014). We received no communication from the store regarding the delivery on 5/30/2014 so we both went into the store on 6/1/2014. I went to the store in person and spoke to the salesperson on staff. He told there was an issue with processing and that know the issue will be taken cared of.It is now July 15th and I have not heard anything from the owner of this store. I have attempted to contact him numerous times but all my efforts have failed. This has gone far past poor customer service and deep into the territory of absolute disrespect.Desired Settlement: I would like either a $600 refund or the set of table and chairs that the business owner promised.

Review: Dear Sir,

I am a non-immigrant from [redacted]. I work as a Tax manager in [redacted] and live in [redacted]. I bought furniture for my new rented apartment from Afana Furniture (Central Avenue , NJ) on 3rd July, 2014. The furniture included the following:

1.Sofa set 2.Dinning table & 4 chairs 3. 5 x 8 ' Carpet 4. Cofee table set (of 3) 5. King size bed room set(bed, lamp table, mattress & box, chest, dressing table & mirror) &6. Queen size bed & mattress.

The above furniture was agreed to be delivered on 2nd August to my new apartment in [redacted] at 1 pm. The total price for the above was $2,750 including the delivery and setup charges.

I paid $1,400 as an advance by check on 3rd July 2014. The balance of $1,350 was to be paid in cash on delivery on the 2nd August. After quite long and irritating followup with them, finally on 2nd August, finally at around 5 pm. When they came, they asked the balance $1350 upfront before even w/o installing the furniture, Which I paid right away, as they said, they would not deliver inside the home until I make the payment. I thought, may be that is the usual practice, so I paid the balance of $1,350 even before they installed the furniture in my home. Then I realized that they forgot to bring the Chest from the main bedroom set. and the coffee table set they brought was totally of different design and color, which was not that I had purchased. so that was sent back. Also, one of the sofa seats had a minor scratch. So the delivery guy ([redacted] told me that he would deliver the balance items in 7-10 business days and replace the sofa seat as well. He signed the details that the above things were pending and the full payment was made, he also gave me his cell no. Now, since then, I have called them hundreds of times, and emailed several times, but they do not pick up the phone, and when they pick up, the guy in jersey city store says, call [redacted]. and so on but till date my order is pending! I have all backupDesired Settlement: I am extremely frustrated, and I beg your help in this matter. First, I would like to get the pending furniture items delivered right away, and Second, I would like to be paid at least $1000 for the mental harassment we had to go through. I had made the payments two months ago, till date the furniture is not placed in full, and they treat us like anything, they are extremely careless and unfriendly people. I would like you to teach them a good lesson, that they would not forget.
