Affair Recovery Reviews (%countItem)

I found out my husband was having an affair. I was devastated. I should mention his job is very demanding and stressful. Desperate, I started looking online for help. I was just browsing, not planning to purchase anything. I came across Affair Recovery. They offer an Emergency Marital Seminar that looked like exactly what I needed. The next seminar was 3 months away in October of 2019. It seemed like a long time to wait for relief. There were only a few spots left, so I quickly paid the required $1,000.00 deposit. I would also pay 5 monthly auto withdraw installments of $594.00 on the 26th for the next 5 months. I couldn't check to see if my husband could go because he was away working and would not return for a few days. I decided that was OK since the site CLEARLY states there is a 100% money back guarantee. (Little did I know the loopholes). When my husband returned he said he needed to check vacation dates in his office. I didn't rush him since I didn't know I only had 7 days to get a refund. A few days later he told me because the holidays were coming and beng too busy, he couldn't go in Oct but he would go to the next one. Disappointed, I called them the next day for a refund. I was traumatized when I learned I couldn't get a refund because it was past the 7 days. It seems to me that when a company advertises a 100% money back guarantee, the very next sentence should be, has to be within 7 days. Especially a company who helps people in trauma. Its not likely a person who is devastated and not thinking clearly will think to check for refund expiration dates. So the company suggested we change our seminar date to January. So we changed it to Jan. The lady on the phone made me feel like she was doing me a favor. But I found out later that is their policy. All registrations are allowed a one time change. I felt a little deceived by that. She also did not mention we could only change one time. Or that if you do change it voids the refund policy completely. On November 25th, we realized my husband has mandatory inventory at work on the exact weekend we had rescheduled our seminar. Inventory is done once a month at his work and there's no getting out of it. I guess we were stressed and didn't even think about that before we changed our date. I looked to see if we could go to the next seminar 3 months later. (Since I didn't know you can only change one time). Thats when I realized that we would never be able to go because they scheduled their seminars every 3 months on the same weekends of my husbands inventory. So I quickly looked at the refund policy. I was relieved to see that if you cancel 3 weeks prior to the EMS Weekend start date you will receive a full refund minus the $1000.00 deposit. Since it was only November there was plenty of time for a refund. So far I had paid the the $1000.00 deposit and two installments of $594.00 each. My next payment was due to be withdrawn the next day on Nov 26th. I thought about canceling my debit card. But both the Sept and Oct installments were withdrawn 2 or 3 days late. So I figured this one would be taken late also. So on the 25th of Nov 2019 I sent them an email explaining we couldn't go to the seminar. I asked them to cancel the auto withdraw scheduled for the next day since I was canceling in plenty enough time for a refund. I was very upset first thing the next morning when I checked my bank account and the $594.00 had been withdrawn. So I checked my email. Thats when I saw they had replied to me the night before. They told me I was not eligible for a refund since we had changed our seminar date. I feel they were deceptive with me. I had paid them $2,692.00! Thats a lot. I realize I didn't read all the rules of the refund before. But Their policy is that you can change one time. I wonder what they do if you can't change your date because of schedule conflicts. If they had mentioned to me when I changed our date that it would void the cancellation policy we might have thought about it more and doubled checked before changing our date. It also seems sneaky that they immediately withdrew the payment from my account first thing on the 26th of Niovember when the two prior payments were taken out 2 or 3 days late. I left them many voicemails, emails and texts to talk to them about this. Absolutely no reply. I even left the founder of the company, 3 voicemails begging him to call me back. He did not reply. For a company who is suppose to be helping people in trauma I think this is very uncaring. I at least expected them to call me back and nicely talk to me about it. I am asking for them to refund the 3 installments of $594.00, a total of $1,692.00. I calked my bank about this. I talked to the banker for quite a while about this. Even she thought this was a little harsh and agreed I should be refunded the $1,692. Please give me a refund of $1,692.00.

Affair Recovery Response • Aug 18, 2020

Current status of dispute: waiting on customer to confirm mailing address for refund check1. This customer does not qualify for a refund and responded to an email acknowledging the terms prior to moving months.2. We made an exception to the Refund Policy. In order to issue the refund, we needed the customer to confirm her mailing address to send the check as the transactions happened prior to 120 days and we could not refund the amount to her card after that length of time. We requested this needed information via email on March 18, 2020. We have not received a response by phone or email from the customer.
