Dear Ms***,
Thank you for contacting us concerning *** *** concern related to his care and treatment at St Elizabeth Hospital. We
reviewed the care and treatment provided to Mr*** as well as his concern and complaint and found that Mr*** traveled to the Fox Cities area seeking treatment for his health concerns and sought treatment with St Elizabeth Hospital. The type of treatment Mr *** was seeking is very specialized and the treatment area at St Elizabeth that Mr *** would have needed was full and there was absolutely no opportunity to offer Mr*** a patient bed at St Elizabeth Hospital. Due to our full bed capacity we did work very aggressively to find a treatment location for Mr*** contacting treatment facilities across the geographical area from Green Bay to FonDuLac. The testing that was done was absolutely required to assist in finding treatment options for Mr***. Facilities will not consider and or look at patients for potential admission and or treatment without this testing already being done. Unfortunately despite our aggressive work to find a treatment facility for this patient all treatment facilities were full.
As a result of the review, we found the charges for emergency care to be appropriate

When I first got to the hospital they said they had a spot for me however after the tests and everything they then said they didn't have room.  So you got me to get labs, tests and see a doctor for nothing and then charge me.  This hospital is the worst I've ever been to ever

Review: On February 2, 2014 I went to St. Elizabeth Hospital in seeking inpatient treatment in the mental health ward. The told me that they would have to take a drug test and some blood work from me before they could put me as inpatient in the mental health ward of the hospital which we were told had openings. After getting all of the tests, blood work completed and the doctor agreeing for me to be inpatient I was then told that they no longer had room. I had all of these things performed and saw an Emergency Room Doctor for nothing. They said that I could come back tomorrow and have all of the tests redone and see the Emergency Room doctor again to try to get another spot which would also charge me again. I was very upset that this hospital told me in the beginning that they had room and to get all of these tests performed and see the Emergency Room Doctor and then after that to not get a spot that they said prior they had. There was no since for me then to get the tests performed or to see the Emergency Room Doctor in the first place then. This was a waste of the Emergency Room Doctor and my time.Desired Settlement: I'm seeking a refund of $200.00 and to have that credited to account number [redacted]

Dear Ms. [redacted],

Review: I have had bills with them for two years now. I paid all of them off last year. Which showed bills from 2015 also. They offered me a payoff amount at 25% discount so they could clear their books. I took them up on the offer. Received no bills from them for about 6 months. I received a bill from them on 12/30/15 which I believed was for recent charges. Made a payment of $57.00. Now I received another bill from them and I looked thru the statement this time because it went up to right around $400.00 which is around the amount of savings from pay off. I see charges on there from 3/2015. I called and talked with them asking why I'm getting bills from so long ago and that I paid off those bills all ready. They told me that those bills were different than the bills from the pay-off amount. They also told me that they sent me statements 6 times and I did not respond to any of those. I had not received any statements before the 12/30/2015 statement. I was told thats not there problem that it did not get to me in the mail. I would like you to know and need to see if anyone else has had this issue with there billing and why they wait 9 months to if they did send out statements. would you not call the patient and see what was the issue with none payment. Since I have started to go to affinity there care is top notch but there billing threatens you with collection if you don't pay them what they feel is an appropriate amount.Desired Settlement: The people out there need to be able to keep there dignity when they are having life issues and trying to make payments and there billing should be more proactive instead of waiting to just threaten to send to collections.
