Thank you for the opportunity to reply to the above referenced complaint. Your assistance in resolving this matter is greatly appreciated. Ms. [redacted] correctly states that her son has an automobile loan with this credit union that is secured by her automobile. She also correctly states that her...

son's loan was in arrears for $585.82 and that a $100 fee was assessed to this account. She informed me that I had told her son over the telephone that only $585.82 was due. I advised her that I had told him an additional fee would be due from the towing company, and that I would need to speak with the tow operator in order to determine what that charge would be. Ms. [redacted] came into the credit union to make the payment as she indicated. I then called the tow operator and was informed the fee for his service totaled $100. Ms. [redacted] then stated that this was not what I had told her son. I advised her that her son knew that there would be an additional charge because we had discussed the matter over the telephone in our previous conversation. She re-stated several times that her son said I told him that the total due was $585.82. I advised her that if her son was telling her that I made no mention of towing charges, her son was not telling her the truth since we had discussed the matter in the previous telephone conversation. Please be aware that all fees and amounts due are according to the contract signed by both Ms. [redacted] and her son. If Ms. [redacted]'s son wishes to authorize me to release additional details of our conversation, as well as provide the Revdex.com with copies of relevant contracts, I will be happy to provide additional details to the bureau. Please understand that my response is limited to the specific information that Ms. [redacted] has already presented. I am bound by Regulation P- the Privacy Act—from disclosing additional information without her son's authorization. As to having Ms. [redacted] banned from the credit union premises, please be aware that once Ms. [redacted] started raising her voice and repeatedly stated that I called her son a liar, I asked her to leave. As she was exiting, she asked to speak to a manager and raised her voice and created a disturbance in the lobby. When she refused to leave, I followed appropriate security procedures and had staff contact 911. In discussion with the [redacted] Police Department responding officers, it was decided that she should be banned from returning to the credit union. Since she is not a credit union member, this should be no inconvenience to her. She is entirely welcome to review this matter by telephone with credit union management. Sincerely, Jim H.
