Affirmative Air Reviews (3)

I have rental properties with home warranty and have always had issues with the contractors they send out due to wrong diagnosis or charges that are above and beyond what is reasonable. Also, the contractors never attend to it on time. Mike from Affirmative Air was prompt, efficient and the charges were very reasonable. Based on my experience I believe that he is honest and would never overcharge or give wrong diagnosis.

Affirmative Air treated us with care from the beginning. This past May our A/C died. It was 13 years old and we new it was on its last leg. We called around and got 4 bids. The thing I liked about Affirmative was there financing options. The owner personally came out and was not pushy. Explained the process of changing out my units to my wife and I in a simple non sales way. The installers were professional and clean. The install was completed within 4 hrs and the crew cleaned up after them selves. Affirmative was not the cheapest but out of 4 bids they gave me by far the best value.

Initially, we had acquired Affirmative Air through our home warranty company to replace out indoor coils. The first tech came out and conducted the inspection and then gave us a quote on new air conditioner installs and a quote to put in 2 new thermostats that he recommended. We explained that we would purchase the ones he recommended on Amazon and asked for a price to install them which he quoted us at $70 for his hour of labor. 45 minutes prior to showing up he called and asked if anyone talked to us about pricing which I replied "you did" then his manager called and tried to re-quote the work at $75 per thermostat. This same tech is the one that advocated a $200 access fee (not covered through the home warranty) because he wasn't comfortable climbing into the attic space to do his job. The techs they did send out had zero problems climbing into the attic space to do the coil install, there was no additional work require to access the attic yet we still got charged the $200. We of course cancelled the thermostat install along with the air conditioner service we were prepared to pay for. It's my honest opinion that this company was trying to hustle us for extra money and that the techs were not trained on their company's products and services. You will pay more for your service if you hire them while they complain about accessing the equipment to which they are trained to work on.
