When a guest comes into our facility they sign a health release/waiverThey then try a class and afterwards sit down with us to give us feedback and if they are interested we go over membership optionsAfter going over the membership options [redacted] chose to sign up for a month membershipOur contracts are standard for the industry, there is nothing deceptive on them - you are even welcome to bring it home to look it over before making any final decisionsWe are about quality, not quantity, and are only looking to sign up individuals who are wanting to make a commitment to themselves to get in shape and learn a practical life skill like Krav MagaUnfortunately, sometimes after people sign a contract, life gets in the way and they are unable to take advantage of their membershipWe understand that this happens so when someone defaults on their contract we offer a 50% buyout of whatever is left (this is stated on the back of the contract) we also give them the opportunity to pick up on their contract where they left off - despite being delinquent - so that they can take advantage of what they are paying forWhen [redacted] first signed her contract she paid her first months dues and enrollment fee up front - if she was confused about what was going on she would have spoken up about the initial charges and stated that she did not intend to sign up or pay for anythingWe even allow people to cancel their contracts anytime within the first hours (also stated on the contract.) It is unfortunate that she was unable to take advantage of her membership, however, she did sign a contract and was given multiple options and opportunities to take advantage of her trainingInstead she chose to ignore our attempts to reach out to her and file a complaint when she was held accountable

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I never noticed an initial charge to my bank account and no one ever tried to contact me regarding "late" payments The only time I was ever contacted was through "newsletters" that I tried unsubscribing from twice and still received them Regards, [redacted]

I have attached a screen shot showing the date of the original payment if Ms. [redacted] would like to search her bank records. I have also attached a copy of her signed contract to show that there was no deception. The contract reads very clearly and is initialed and signed. We also attempted to call her in regards to her past due payments several times and sent the following email on May 28, 2015:05/28/2015, I sent the student an email and set an alert: I need your help for just a couple of minutes. I was unable to process your last two payments, April 24, 2015 and May 14, 2015. You have an outstanding balance of $210.00 that includes late fees. Please contact me by June 1, 2015 to bring your account current; [redacted]. I can take a one time payment over the phone. You'll need to complete a Membership Update Form the next time you are in the studio with your new credit card or bank account information. As I stated before, we are in the business of helping people and look to offer self-defense and fitness training to anyone wanting to make a change in their life. It is unfortunate that Ms. [redacted] did not take advantage of her membership and we apologize for any misunderstanding. However, as a small business,  our finances are based off of contracts and the expectations that those contracts will be upheld. We did give her the opportunity to resume her training where she left off on her contract so that she did not have to pay for a product that she did not get to use but she rejected our offer. I feel we have gone out of our way to be as accommodating as possible and apologize that she is not pleased with our attempts.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: That is a total lie.  I NEVER received an email about late payments.  They are in the business of lying to customers instead of helping them.
