Affordable Auto Glass Reviews (14)

I am rejecting this response because:To start with I do not want [redacted] or his helper to come back out to fix the windshield or the trim on my 87 4Runner or any other vehicle that I own. I have learned my lesson with Affordable Auto Glass, and the kind of work that they do, and how good there warranty really is. And I did not tare off any trim, again the corner pice popped off when I was doing what [redacted] told me to do. The left side peace and all the other trim was still in place. But the about the top four inches of the left side pice was pushed down into the glue to far and had to be removed without braking it, and reinstalled or a new one installed. I called Affordable Auto Glass out, only because the windshield in the truck was leaking on the right side and even though that windshield looked bran new I was well aware that it and the original trim was not installed correctly, I was already aware that it could most likely not be able to reused, that is why I ordered new trim. When [redacted] and his helper were taking off the old chrome trim [redacted] sed that all the trim was stuck in the glue and they couldn’t save it it was not properly installed. I replied, I figured that would be the case. Then [redacted] sed, IT WAS PROBABLY INSTALLED BY A [redacted]. HIS EXACT WORDS. I personally do not have a problem with people of any race, but I do have a problem with [redacted] and do not want an any [redacted] to work on anything I own, no matter what there race is. So when he sent me a text saying he wasn’t coming back out to tare the hole side pice back off, I took that like any one would, that I’m stuck with the shoddy work that he and his helper did. So I texted back looks like I should have called out some [redacted]s to fix it. So I was quoting pretty much his own words, and there weren’t any so called racial slurs. Or anything rude sed until [redacted] text me and sed he’s not coming back out. And again, I also have all the text that were sent, saved. Also the BRAN NEW WINDSHIELD that Affordable Auto Glass installed was leaking on the left side of the windshield. When I went to [redacted] to pick up the two new pies of chrome trim they suggested that I bring the truck to [redacted]. Witch I did and they confirmed THAT THE CHROME TRIM WAS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED, AND THAT THE BRAND NEW WINDSHIELD WAS LEAKING. So on 4/18/16 I payed them 156.33 dollars to install ANOTHER BRAN NEW WINDSHIELD AND FIX THE CHROME TRIM. And they gave be a discount because they knew I took a beating from Affordable Auto Glass. Also they seamed to be a little familiar with [redacted] and his company Affordable Auto Glass. You should call them. And I do not have and did not receive a receipt from Affordable Auto Glass. [redacted]’s helper had me sing a paper, sed I owed them one hundred and sixty nine dollars, witch I payed them and included a 30 dollar tip rounded out too two hundred dollars even, because I was led to believe that they did a good job, and that THE WINDSHIELD WOULD NOT LEAK. LITTLE DID I KNOW. [redacted] even sed, if I still have a leak it’s not the windshield. But I do have a receipt form [redacted] witch I WILL INCLUDE A COPY. And [redacted] Auto Glass did do a professional job installing the again  a new windshield and the trim, witch they were able to reuse all but the top left corner pice that popped off the truck about a week before I went to them. I am completely happy with the work they did, also the employee at [redacted] Auto Glass that installed the new windshield WAS [redacted] AND HE ALSO RECEIVED A 30 DOLLAR TIP AND HE DESERVED IT, FOR THE QUALITY WORK THAT HE DID…….. I have also included pitchers of the text that were sent back and forth between me and [redacted] the owner of Affordable Auto Glass, witch include all the racial slurs I so rudely sent hem. So you can for yourself what was sed and sent. I tried to resolve things with [redacted] politely, but when he text me and sed he’s not coming out to fix it, after I tore it apart, when in fact did not tare it apart. Things changed, especially when there add says. Materials, professional workmanship and customer service to our clients GUARANTEED. We will get the job done right the first time. Lifetime warranty. All BS. It’s obvious that [redacted] is and was using any excuse he could think of to get out of fixing the trim that he and his helper incorrectly installed on the 87 4Runner, witch now also includes the windshield leaking. He doesn’t need to come up with excuses anymore, he just needs to return the one hundred and sixty nine dollars, plus the 30 dollar tip and the sixteen dollars and ten cents for the corner pice that had to be replaced. And if he had to pay me for all the time I have in this hole ordeal thanks to there shoddy work [redacted] would owe me well over one thousand dollars. I also inclosed a copy of the recite for the chrome trim, but again at this time it is pretty much irrelevant about how much I payed for the trim, because [redacted] Auto Glass was able to remove it all but the top left side, again, witch was not even on the truck. Without tearing it up, so to my surprise it was able to be reused and cents were getting down to the nitty gritty. It would also be interesting to know id [redacted] has workmen’s comp insurance on he’s helper. And that’s the way it it, and that’s the way it goes, in this day in age, do to dit do to do do to do do do do do……… and at this point I have all the info that I have, and am ready to let the chips fall where they may [redacted] has tried to turn the hole situation around, like I was sending a bunch of racial slurs, and possibly out of control, when in fact I was not. So the focus should be on what started this hole situation. Witch is the fact that [redacted] and his helper from Affordable Auto Glass did not install the windshield or chrome trim on my 87 4 Runner correctly. And would not stand behind there work like there add says. I have also wrote some notes on the back of a cupel of pitchers. Also [redacted] had sed that I sed that he didn’t have to come back out if he didn’t want to, and he’s right I did, it’s his option weather he wants to stand behind his work or not, I can not make him do anything. And after seeing the work that they did I was pretty much ready to bring it elsewhere to have the chrome trim fixed. And at that time I didn’t even know the windshield was leaking. When I finished installing all the interior on 4/15/16 I got the truck insured, and the next day washed it and there was water that had came down under the windshield post trim and down onto the carpet on the left side of the truck, drivers side. That is when I found out what kind of job Affordable Auto Glass really did. Thanks [redacted].

I talked to the customer on 6-10-2015 and told her that I'd look at her door to see if it was a problem with the work that we did and if it was that we would fix it but if it not working correctly due to prior damage that we would not fix her door and at that point she yelled [redacted] you I'll just call...

the Revdex.com and hung up on me. I would have taken care of the issue if it was something we did but now I will not do anything for her. When I first did the repair the door was all messed up because she had had a friend do the same regulator a couple months prior and it broke it was missing bolts and spot welds were broke. She watched me as I did the work and was telling me how he had messed up her door.I gave her the service she paid for. I tried to go look at it and was cussed at by her. I don't feel comfortable going around her.

On Saturday, July 4th 2015 a message was left from a customer stating she was in an accident and is having her vehicle towed to our shop. On Monday July 6th 2015 the customer rode her bike to the shop and spoke to [redacted]. They both went outside and had gone over the the damage together. He told her...

what parts were needed and what he could repair. She stated she was worried because she has not paid the vehicle off yet and she didn't want to upset her parents. She said she did not care if the parts matched the rest of the car she just needs it to run. She said she needs to go the cheapest route possible. With that in mind, [redacted] told her he would go to a local vendor and go through their inventory to see if they have parts for her vehicle. This is something we do not usually do. The parts would be alot cheaper but he could not tell her how much until he was able to make it there. He told her he will do his best to keep it under $1000. A few days had gone by and the customer called and [redacted] kept her up to date on the status. Then the customers Mother called after hours and left a voicemail stating she wanted an estimate on the vehicle. That next day, we spoke to the customer and let her know she could pick up the vehicle and told her the amount..which was under $800. I should not have assumed the customer was keeping her Mother updated on the service that was being provided since they live together. This is unfortunate that this happened. [redacted] went out of his way to help his customer because she did not have the money to repair the vehicle 100%. But he will do what he can to help someone in need. He always makes sure the vehicles are safe. It may take a little time as he is 1 person. The satisfaction of a happy customer is what he strives for.

I am rejecting this response because:It is untrue.  I called for a repair on driver's side window unable to  raise.  He diagnosed the problem over the phone.  He met me at the place he chose and evidently was iunprepared to do the repair he had misdiagnosed or not fully  diagnosed.  He did not fully repair the with download consequently  the window and the parts that go up and down need replacement.

Review: I [redacted] would like to file a complaint against Affordable Auto Glass Tint & Detail. They came to my house at [redacted] On 4/5/16 and replaced the windshield and install the brand new windshield chrome trim that I had just bought new from the dealer, and paid 492.02 plus tax 528.92 on a 1987 Toyota 4 Runner. As far as I know at this point the windshield is ok, I haven’t tested it for leaks, and haven’t driven the 4 runner. Because I have had all the interior out of the truck, and have been replacing all of it. And [redacted] had been notified that the 4Runner is uninsured and not being driven. But anyways when the two guys came out from Affordable Auto Glass tent & detail, and installed the chrome trim around the windshield, on the top left corner drivers side they didn’t have the chrome corner piece connected to the top piece that runes along the top of the windshield right, pitcher inclosed. And they put a pice of blue tape right over those pieces, so I didn’t know they had messed it up, till I pilled off the tape on 4/11/16. So I called Affordable Auto Glass back told them what they did and texted them a pitcher. They sed to pull the corner pice back far enough that the top pice could slide in, when I tried that the corner pice popped off, because the rubber seal on the corner pice was pushed down into the windshield adhesive two far pitcher inclosed, and would not go back on. So I texted Affordable Auto Glass a pitcher, explained what happened and that I ordered two more pieces of trim, and that I would call him when it came in. he texted back, I’m not tearing the hole side apart, before you tore it apart I would have came and side that pice on this week. So I text back I didn’t tare it apart, it popped off when I pulled the corner pice back like you sed to do. And things went bad from there. But anyways from the way it looks the corner pice can’t just be snapped back on the rubber pice that it connects to, has been pushed down into the windshield adhesive two far, and should be cut back out and replaced, same with the top of the side pice it is pushed down into the adhesive to far and needs to be taken back off and fixed or replaced. Witch in my opinion.Desired Settlement: I was unaware of what they did and payed them just under 170 dollars and gave them a 30 dollar tip rounded off I have them 200 dollars even. I have also sent some pitchers that shows that the truck is being restored, and it’s irrelevant that the corner pice came off when I was trying to fix it, I was doing what Affordable Auto Glass told me to do, and it wasn’t put on right to began with. And you can see all the windshield adhesive that was not cleaned where I pulled the tape off. I still have the text the were sent from me and him witch I plan to save. But anyways they refuse to come fix it. So I would like to file a complaint against [redacted]

Response:

I told him I would come to fix the corner. And he went on as to wanting me to pull the whole side off and I told him I wasn't taking it all apart at that point he started with racial slurs which I have on the text messages. I am not and will not go back. Also in the video text he told me I didn't have to come back. And I would have till he started with the racial stuff.

Someone busted out one of my windows in my car last night, and Riverside Automotive referred me to Pat at Affordable Auto Glass. He spent about 15 minutes finding the right window for me, and when he called me back, he told me that he would come to me. Within 6 hours, my window was fixed, all I had to do was make a phone call, I paid over the phone, and it was under $200! I could not believe it. I thought I was going to be without a window for multiple days, and I was expecting to pay significantly more. Pat, thank you so, so much!!

I had my car window serviced by Affordable Auto Glass on Friday. When it came to take the 24hr tape off (which I tried doing today Monday) the molding was coming for a ride with the tape. I called Pat, which is the owner. He was RUDE and not HELPFUL, as his website states. I couldn't even get my question in before Pat telling me to relax and hangs up on me? He was so unprofessional and rude. I called his technician Dan, and asked him the same question. Dan was readily to answer the question with no fuss or attitude and reassured me that my car window will not fall off. I do not know how a person like Pat can still be in business when he cannot deal with his own service and his customers. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

I currently drive a Volkswagen Jetta. My Jetta is paid for and looks and runs okay. I did have a problem with the interior detaching from the top of the car which I chose to have repaired. My husband found a place that would fix the interior but to do this the windshield had to be removed. Therefore he had to contact a window place that would be able to remove the windshield and replace it once the interior was fixed. My husband finds a place which was Affordable Glass and they tell him it would cost approximately $190.00 to remove and then replace the windshield.
My husband writes a check for the cost of the windshield to later receive a call from the owner of Affordable Glass, Pat. Pat stated “I can not take your check because you live near [redacted]”. He goes on rambling and adds how terrible the area and the people are. He said he has a business to run and that there are areas that my husband wouldn’t walk in. He said he needed a credit card number and after my husband gave it to him, his response was, “I shouldn’t have a problem, should I?” This is the owner of a business. Granted our first thought (well this really wasn’t our first thought) was to not do business with this company but our windshield is now removed which left us not much of a choice.
We were truly appalled by this owner’s ignorance. [redacted]

They are cheap in the work they do. They did such a bad job I had to get to another shop to get my window repair.

Review: Installed auto windshield about 2 months ago & has been leaking in truck every time it rains, Called 8 times in past 3 weeks about fixing leak, 4 times they said next day they would fix, everytime no one comes and last 4 times just machine answers, Leave message & they will not return call

Unprofessional individuals who use vulgarities including sexually explicit language toward customers with no regard for how it affects their business. The owners are rude, crude, and socially unacceptable who don't know a thing about basic customer service.

Review: I called april 4th and set up an appointment for them to come and replace my windsheild and fix a chip in my fiance windshieldat 8:30am on the 5th which he quoted me $150 to fix mine and $25 to fill the chip also he stated that they would call when they were on the way. Well at 8:35 that morning I had not heard from anyone so I called and asked if they were still coming he rudely said let me call you back. He called be just a couple of minutes later and said his installer had over slept and they would not be able to make it that day. So I rescheduled for the following monday the 7th for 10:30, which I was disappointed about considering it was my fiance birthday, but I understood that things happen sometimes. Well monday morning it was pouring down rain when they came and you could tell that he was not very happy about be there because when I asked him if they would still be able to fill the chip in our other car he response was no iys raining , he proceeded to set up a canopy over my windshield and dried it off so they could remove it. The were very quick with the installation he came to my door and handed me and invoice for $169 plus tax. I didn't argue I was just happy my winshield was fixed. My car sat for the rest off the day, tuesday I went to work as usually and everything was fine until wednesday when I went thru a car wash on my lunch break and at that point I realized I had a huge leak in the top of my windshield and water was pouring down my windshield into my dash. I called him as soon as I exited the car wash, explained therd was a leak he said he would meet me the following day at my work when I was on my break to fix it. That morning I had a mishap at work and was no available for them to cone that day. I called to reschedule they didnt answer so I left a message explaining my situation and asking them to please call me back. I didnt hear back from them, and on top of everything thursday morning when I went to leave for work I turned my car on and my radio was not working, none of my buttons worked the screen was fading in and out so I tried to call them again and no answer. Later that day about 10 hours after I initially notice my radio wasnt working I started to work again. I called them mutiple times between thursday morning the 10th until monday morning with no answer leaving serval messages. I called them six times that morning worried because it was suppose to rain all day on tuesday and I did not want to get anymore water in my car. Finally he called me back and said he could be at my work in ten minutes asked if I could be there I said yes and he hung up. So up until now I had not had any chance to bring up the issue with my radio, so when they arrived I tried explaining to him what happened and show him the picture I had taken of my radios screen and he pretty much ignored me and started working on my car so I figured I let him do what he needed to do and then try to talk to him. As they were finishing up I proceeded to ask him if I had futher issues with my radio or anything else in my dash due to water damage how would that pan out, thats when he went from kinda rude and off standish to completely obscene. He was yelling and talking over me and tried to tell me that this was my fault and since I had to reschedule on him it was not his problem and said good luck with your [redacted] radio and car and then got in his van and floored it spinning tire out of my jobs parking lot. I waited about an hour to give him time to cool off and I tried to call and have a normal adult conversation with him and he answered the phone and hung up in my face three times in a row. I have not been able to get in touch with him since and my radio is changing for radio to cd to aux randonly on its own and when I try to play music thru my aux port the sound fades in and out. I work for a car parts company and deliver to various service shops and when I asked them if this is sonething I need to worry about all of them told me that everything electrical about my car is stored in my dash and that just because certains things are working dine now doesnt mean I wont have problems later on down the road due to corrosion , mold, and mildew. I am not sure what I need to do but these issues I am having with my radio and the potential for more issues in the future and due to his mistake and I feel that he needs to own up to it.Desired Settlement: I would like for my car to be checked out to see how severe the water damage is and what risk it will cause and for my radio to be in proper working order.

Review: To Whom It May Concern,I contacted Affordable Auto Glass by phone and scheduled an appointment some few days prior to 1/26/2015.I explained that the driver's window would no longer rise and that the motor seemed to have stopped. The glass would no longer close. He stated that I needed a new regulator and he would install it for $234.00, cash. He picked a location the freeway on-ramp near my location. We met on 1/26/2015.He took the door apart at the park and ride near that on-ramp. Upon taking the door apart he told replaced the regulator and then stated that the window did not glide properly and that the car was missing parts. I would have gladly paid him for future repairs to ensure the window would work correctly for the $234.00 I was giving him. He instead put the door back together and asked for payment. And then he stated that he couldn't guaruntee the windows operation. I asked him if he could repair it and he told me "No". The window started proving difficult to raise about a week ago. It came off the track almost completely yesterday. its tilted sideways in the door. I found the receipt and called last night. He said,"The door has a dent in it, I'll come out and look at it, but I am not going to fix it for you." I responded, "Thank you, Ill contact the Revdex.com" And I am following through. It has been less than 6 months since he charged me for repairing a window that isn't repaired. I would have trusted his judgement as a professional and proceeded with any future needed repairs but he was seemingly unwilling to perform the task of repairing my window. As a disabled school teacher I feel particularly taken advantage of. I feel he is falsely claiming to do auto glass repair work. He diagnosed the problem by phone and then charged me for incomplete repair work. I do not have the expertise to diagnose nor rectify the problem and will have to pay someone else to do what I paid the for.Desired Settlement: Refund my money please.Or I will seek legal recourse.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:I read the response composed by Affordable Auto Glass and found that in fact the the regulator installed by Affordable was improperly installed. I have included a statement by [redacted]. The main bolts for the regulator were non-existent there were bolts inside the door that were new but were loose inside the door. The regulator was no longer able to guide the glass up and down and the guiding mechanism were broken. Cost to repair was estimated at $450.00. I explained to them that was excessive. They suggested an new door estimated in their experience to be less costly.I would have not rejected Affordable Auto Glasses offer to further repair my car if at ANY POINT they would have offered. At this point in time I do not trust them to repair my vehicle further. I paid them $234.00 less than 6 months ago.

Response:

The door was tore apart when we tried to repair it the guide was already broke and bolts were already missing that's why the regulator she installed before us burned up. Someone tore her door apart. I informed her of this when we were there she watched us do the work and I explained all this to her then. I had to use the bolts that were there when I installed it. She said as long as it would stay up she was happy and she would get the rest of her door fixed. I offered to come look at her regulator but informed her that I wouldn't fix the rest of her problems with her door and that's when she said [redacted] I'll just call the Revdex.com and hung up. I won't be doing anything for this lady. I performed the work I was paid to do it's not our fault she previously ruined her door. It worked fine for 6 months. I don't know what she's done to it in the last 6 month but by her reaction when I told her I wouldn't fix her door unless it was something we did tells me she's trying to get something for nothing. ly

Review: I [redacted] needed a new windshield installed in my 1985 Ford Bronco. I picked up a business card from my mechanic @ Foresthill Garage and gave Affordable Auto Glass a call. I talked to [redacted] at ###-###-#### and made an appointment to replace my windshield at the Foresthill Garage on Jan.2, 2014 at the cost of $176.00. On Jan.4,2014 I had [redacted] put a 8 inch window tinting shade film on the top portion of my windshield at the cost of $40.00. Around 2-3 weeks later there was a rain storm and the windshield leaked in the center and by the corner of the drivers side door.I then called Affordable Auto Glass back and talked to [redacted] and told him about the leaks. With much resistance he told me he would fix it.I had my Bronco driven by a friend taken back to Foresthill Garage on or around the last week of Jan, or the first week of Feb. 2014 to have [redacted] repair the installation job. Well the very next rain storm the windshield started leaking once again. As a consumer I then choose to have my windshield fixed somewhere else. I took my vehicle to Reliable auto glass and they fixed the problem. At the cost of $149.00. I then called [redacted] back at Affordable auto glass and asked him to refund my $176.00 for his very shoddy workmanship. He refused to refund my money. I also had to pay another $40.00 to have my windshield retinted. I would really appreciate any help that you could help me with in getting my money back. Also I want other customers of Affordable to know what kind of shody work they do. Thank you [redacted]Desired Settlement: $176.00 for the first windshield by Affordable Auto Glass$80.00 for the window tinting and $149.00 for the second windshield from Reliable Auto Glass A total of $405.00

Response:

When I went to fix it the first time at the top where it's glued in the tinter had cut the glue to make room for her tint I showed her friend that brought the car where the tinter had cut it. I fixed the leak anyways. Once somebody alters the work it's not guaranteed anymore. They cut the glue all the way back to the metal and across the whole top to make a straight line for the tint. It is not warranted. She is only telling one side of the story. I went the next day to look at it about the leak. The leak was due to the cutting of the adhesive.

Response:

You are lieing and I'm not gonna deal with this [redacted] cut the adhesive across the top I showed the person with the bronco plus my employee. She is trying to get something for nothing. I am not giving her nothing she is a liar. Take me to court and the you can lie under oath.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: He is not a good businessman. I would not want anyone else to have the problems that I had with him. So I will look into it and probably end up taking him to court.

Response:

Company states that the consumer had a man named [redacted] put window tint on the window. When the tint was put on [redacted] cut the adhesive that bonds the window and that is what caused the leak. When the adhesive was cut the warranty was void.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: when window tinting is put on there is no cutting of the adhesive. The tinting piece is cut on a table, then the window is sprayed with water. Then is layed on the windshield, wiped clean of the water and heated up. There is no reason to cut the adhesive that wa used to install the windshield.
