They do not stand behind their work. They installed a new bathroom and it leaks. They came back once but problem not fixed. They dont return calls. They were hired to install a brand new bathroom. The shower they installed leaked after several uses. We called and they came out and re-caulked and also sent a plumber who thought it was the caulking. That was about 2 years ago and the shower still leaks and we cannot use that shower. We have had other contractors come out to look at the bathroom and they all think it is the caulking too. It is not. It has been recaulked several times & it still leaks. We have had the ceiling under the shower taken down by a contractor we hired and they could not find a leak. Either the unit they installed is defective, their workmanship is faulty or they hit a pipe and caused a pinhole leak. We have called them many times and they jut ignore our calls. We have given up on them and have hired other people to try to get it straightened out but to no avai. At this point we may have to rip out everything they did and start over at more expense to us that we shouldn't have to incur, had they installed it right in the first place It has been a long time since we have been able to use that bathroom. Also, within a short period of time, the toilet leaked too and had to be removed and a new seal installed. They did very shoddy work. We would NEVER recommend them.Desired SettlementWe would like our money refunded so we can have a more competent contractor replace the work that they did. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]In response to said complaint I believe that it clearly states within Mr. [redacted] own words that we not only stand behind our work but we had also recommended other contractors get involved to satisfy his questions about the assumed leak. It has been several years from the time that I last spoke to Mr. [redacted] at which time It had been determined that there was not an issue. If so why didn't we hear about this much earlier??? Again affordable baths not only stands behind their work but we give a one year warranty which has since expired for both plumbing and electrical which Mr [redacted] already took advantage of to come to the conclusion that there was no leak. Consumer Response Final Business Response Again,In Mr [redacted] own words he stated that "Affordable Baths, Inc. did come out and address the concerns" and it was found that there wasn't any issue caused by Affordable Baths, Inc. He then also states that he had other contractors not affiliated with Affordable Baths come out and everyone of them told him the same thing that they could not find a problem.

When confronted with the many problems with the job at our home, business owner [redacted] became [redacted] and [redacted] to me in my own home. Problems: Mis-measured mirror, which I then had to pay to replace, leaking new pipes caught by homeowner before dry wall installation, resulting in one day delay, mis-laid electrical socket, resulting in one day delay, forgotten drain in shower, resulting in one day delay, unexpected shower tile size and shape due to poor communication, un-sanded, single coat, messy paint job, incorrectly aligned sink pipe (would put sink pipe in the middle of vanity drawers), incorrect vanity purchased and attempted to be installed. When confronted with this myriad of problems, Mr. [redacted] became defensive, aggressive and [redacted] to me (a 5'1" woman) in my own home. Not only was he rude, saying that "talking to me was like trying to talk to his wife", but he was also visibly infuriated, which made me [redacted] He claimed that I had not "caught" him doing anything wrong and that he does 70 bathrooms a year and he will continue doing 70 bathrooms a year whether I am happy with the job or not with this one.Desired SettlementI have signed a contract and paid a 50% down payment on a second bathroom job in my home. I do not wish to have affordable baths complete a second bathroom in my home and I would like a full refund of at 50% down payment for the second bathroom.Business Response I have been in contact with Mr. [redacted] since the intial complaint and was able to work out any miscommunication that was involved. We have since completed the first bathroom and I have been told by Mr. [redacted] that if everything was done properly that we can expect the complaint to be withdrawn. I have apologized to Mrs. [redacted] and sincerely feel terribly that this happened. I in no way would ever want anyone to feel the way she feels and would again like to offer my apology To Mrs. [redacted] for anything that I did to make her feel badly. I stand behind our work 100% and just want to do a good job for this and any customer that has given us the opportunity to do work in their home. I look forward to a much better experience when doing the second bathroom for the [redacted] and am confident that this will go as they & I expect it should.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I would still like a refund fro the deposit on the second bathroom. At this point we are forced to begin a second project unwillingly with the business owner in order not to loose $6000.With that being said, we must begin a second project with the business owner or go to court, which we do not wish to do. Since making my initial complaint, we have faces many other delays and mistakes. I can only hope that the second bathroom goes off without any issues at this point. The first bathroom is still not complete seven weeks after start as the business owner states in his response.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I won't accept this response until the second bathroom is finished without incident in a timely manner (2-3 weeks). Final Business Response Hi [redacted],We are on track to finish up the second bathroom by next week. Sincerely,[redacted]

This company does not do what it says it's going to do when they say they are going to do it,I signed a contract with this company in early December 2014 to remodel my bathroom. I was required to put a 50% deposit down (which seemed high.) I was told the work generally takes 10 business days to complete but they asked I give them 15 business daysfor unforeseen circumstances to which I was agreeable. The work began on January 26, 2015. On that day, before a single thing was done in my home, the business collected another 1/4 of the total job cost. with 3/4 of the total payment in hand the work began. There were TONS of delaysthe carpenter can't make it, the plummer will be there at 8:00 am (only to find out at 12:00 pm no one would be showing up) I'm sick I can't come, the product isn't in, and on and on and on. Additionally, in the process of working on my bathroom, there was a week and a half of time from when the bathroom was demolished to when someone finally showed back up to do more work. During that time my bathroom was left without insulation, with my heat rising to the roof, causing the snow on my roof to melt, resulting in an ice dam causing leaks (significant) into the demo'ed bathroom and down into the bathroom below and the kitchen next to the bathroom below. I have significant damage to my ceiling in both rooms. Affordable Baths "fixed" the ceilingmy 7 year old daughter could have done a better job. Now I need to file a claim with my homeowners insurance to fix the damage. I called the owner midway through the project to express concerns about the "project manager" who was woefully "planning" the work. The owner responded by having the project manager (in my eyes, the problem...) call me back. After many lies (in my opinion) the job was finally completed after 35 business days4 weeks beyond the original promise, absolute latest date to finish. I called the owner again 2 days ago (he is NEVER reachable by phonealways needs to call you back.) When he returned my call he left me a pathetic message saying that his "project manager" has "too much responsibility" with a "sorry"...I would not recommend this business to anyoneDesired SettlementA good faith discount to compensate for the unacceptable delay in service.Business Response I respectfully disagree with the customer. The project was finished and the customer at no time until the very end of the project informed Affordable Baths of how unhappy she was. When she did reach out to me I responded right away within hours but could not reach her directly on her cell phone so I left a message. I don't think that by giving her a discount that her unhappiness would have gone away. Instead it was followed by this complaint which I believe is a form of extortion and not of problem solving.
