We booked the [redacted] cabin for three nights in AugustUpon arrival we killed three scorpions within the first hour and a half of being in the cabin We called the after hours number but the message indicated that only true emergencies (mechanical, structural failures) constituted after hours emergencies, so we left a message requesting a call backNobody ever called and we were unable to stay in the cabin with the scorpion issueKids were terrified and as parents we weren't comfortable making our children sleep in a place that terrified them We found other accommodations and waited for a call back the next day but nobody calledI called them again and was told by management at Affordable Cabins that "they didn't believe me" because that cabin had just been treatedI requested at least a partial refund due to the cabin's issue but was told I would only receive one if they were able to rent the cabin to someone elseAfter arriving home from our vacation, I called requesting status of our credit and was told that we would only receive a 25% credit even though we weren't able to stay even one nightWhen I questioned the policy, the manager of Affordable Cabins became very unreasonable and stated that I should have called the emergency numberI explained that's not what the after hours message states and that's why I didn't callI requested a more reasonable refund and she became belligerent and hung up on me three times I warned that my only course of action would be to dispute the credit card charge and she told me I wouldn't win because I signed a documentI will never rent a cabin from this company again and encourage all others to think twice before renting from them I could have gotten past the scorpion issue and rented from them again, but the horrific customer service experience with the manager has caused me to write this review

My family and I have rented from [redacted] at [redacted] in the Smokies multiple times. Typically we rent [redacted] in [redacted] and cannot say enough wonderful things about ***'s wonderful cottage by the sea. We have rented the Cottage 3 times and each time it gets better...if that's possible. Most recently we were evacuated from our home and [redacted] was able to provide us with a cabin in the Smokies that was available for the night. My family and our four babies had a wonderful place to stay and felt right at home. [redacted] wanted to make sure we were taken care of and comped us for the night. The customer service and properties are exceptional as well as ***'s hospitality. Please do not hesitate to stay at one of ***'s properties, you will not be disappointed.

The cabin was nice enough for my family. Upon arrival it was dirty and needed to be cleaned, no big problem though since we aren't complainers we cleaned the cabin with MY vacuum and mop that I brought from home. We went through and noticed many things that needed to be fixed! But once again thinking it was no big deal didn't make that ALL important phone call to let Affordable Cabins know. After departure though I was charged $100 for susposedly breaking into the owners cabins. The hinge on the door was broken when we arrived and not thinking it was a big deal we disregarded it. When I called and spoke to the lady on the phone about why my card was charged she was very rude, wouldn't let me talk and kept cutting me off in the middle of my sentences, saying that we distespected the owners by breaking into their closest and even insinuated my children broke into the closest. My children are 13, 12, and 9 years old, they have nannies and know better than to break someone else's property!!!!! I am very unhappy with this company they charged my card without even calling me to tell me they were going to charge it for the broken hinge on the door. And I want my money back!!!!! Yes I signed a contract but they should have called to notify me they were going to charge my card. And the only resolution the lady had was for the house keeper to call me and to send me pictures of the door. What the heck is the house keeper going to do?!?!? I want my money back. We didn't break the [redacted] hinge and had no reason to get into that closest. There are 2 other closests in the cabin, what reason did we have to get into that one??? None. We enjoyed our time at the cabin only because of good company. Otherwise Affordable Cabins is a joke and I will never rent from them again. There are too many cabin rentals in the area and they will NOT get another dime from me.

The cabin we stayed in looked exactly the same as in the pictures. We checked in a 4:30 and we were told our cabin was ready. When we drove to the cabin there were still people cleaning it and we had to wait 15 minutes to get in. There was trash left in the bushes around the front entrance and a lot of trash in the fire pit outside (cigarette packs, beer cans, etc.) the jacuzzi inside was really big but we ran out of hot water before it the water level was even high enough to touch the jets. In order to get it full you had to fill it, wait thirty minutes for the water to heat back up and start again. It was a long process. The bed was round. I couldn't tell it by the pictures on the website but it was round. Have you ever tried to sleep on a round bed?? It's horrible. I suppose the worst part was the smell though.. there was a strong septic odor. We lit candles and opened doors but the smell got worse each passing day.
The cabin we stayed in was Hanky Panky. I called the front desk and told them the issues and they offered 15% off next time we visit... as if I would ever come back. And I don't visit pigeon forge but maybe once every 2 or 3 years so in what way would that help me??

We booked the [redacted] cabin for three nights in August. Upon arrival we killed three scorpions within the first hour and a half of being in the cabin. We called the after hours number but the message indicated that only true emergencies (mechanical, structural failures) constituted after hours emergencies, so we left a message requesting a call back. Nobody ever called and we were unable to stay in the cabin with the scorpion issue. Kids were terrified and as parents we weren't comfortable making our children sleep in a place that terrified them. We found other accommodations and waited for a call back the next day but nobody called. I called them again and was told by management at Affordable Cabins that "they didn't believe me" because that cabin had just been treated. I requested at least a partial refund due to the cabin's issue but was told I would only receive one if they were able to rent the cabin to someone else. After arriving home from our vacation, I called requesting status of our credit and was told that we would only receive a 25% credit even though we weren't able to stay even one night. When I questioned the policy, the manager of Affordable Cabins became very unreasonable and stated that I should have called the emergency number. I explained that's not what the after hours message states and that's why I didn't call. I requested a more reasonable refund and she became belligerent and hung up on me three times. I warned that my only course of action would be to dispute the credit card charge and she told me I wouldn't win because I signed a document. I will never rent a cabin from this company again and encourage all others to think twice before renting from them. I could have gotten past the scorpion issue and rented from them again, but the horrific customer service experience with the manager has caused me to write this review.
