Installed two new furnaces in 2010 at a rental duplex.
August 2014 made minor improvements to both through the Community Action Weatherization Program.
Were going to hit me with a service charge in Oct. when one furnace wouldn't work. (suggested it was my fault)
Turns out THEY had wires crossed on the unit, so no charge, but no apology for the inconvenience.
This week (1/18/15) an entire section of a return duct crashed to the ground.
I was told "the tenants must have tampered with the duct" or "maybe hung clothes to dry from it" causing the failure because "you know....that's how tenants are."
Wanted $350 to make repairs!
My tenants have lived there for years without ANY problems and would have no reason to tamper with a furnace they need for heat.
I say the work must not have been done right in the first place.
I will have to find a trustworthy company to make the repairs.
