I [redacted] Owner of Affordable Concrete Contracted the Job from [redacted] and I admit the Job took longer then it supposed to due to the fact the subcontractor I used to do the Job was unprofessional, how ever I was always in contact with the owner letting her know that I was talking to the contractor to get him back to redo and finish the job, after about three weeks the sub contractor came back and finished the job and the owner [redacted] was very happy and did't mine paying him the other $dollars, also as for as the step I put in at the door it was right the door she was putting in was not a stander size door it required a deeper threat hole, but she did't tell me that till after I put the step in, but I fixed it at my expenseThanks [redacted] ***

No I had Labor and materials on his job he chose to finish the job on his on

This is what happen at [redacted] project I gave him a bid  for $3,650.00 with half down, I pick up the check and went got the materials for his project, but from the start he thought he was the contractor everything we did he complained, we were doing the job by the plans I...

think sent he had started the job he thought he new what he was doing but everything he had done we had to redo it. He said he thought he could do it but it was to much for him, but every time we did something it wasn't right we work for three day’s we sat the forms, dug the beams install the rebar compacted the dirt everything according to plans, but every time we go home the next day he would have removed everything, I thank he just didn't have the money for the project, So he told me he would finish the project and just charge him the labor and materials for the three day’s and that’s what I did, I told him how much I was out of and he said give him a check for $310.00 an that what I did and I move on to my next job. and haven’t heard from him sent. I have been doing this for over 30yrs and haven't had a complaint like this, this was a very job compared to the job I do, but he was a guy you could not please.       Thanks [redacted] Sent from Windows Mail

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Everything that [redacted] said is false. He did not buy all of the materials: I still had to spend $200 additional for rebar because he did not have enough on site to finish the project. I am a mechanical engineer and have more of an idea of what I am doing with reinforced concrete than [redacted] does. He claims to have dug the beams but I had already dug them, he backfilled them. He claims that he did everything and that I "un-did" it, but he simply never did it. He did not work three days, only one and a half. He did not install the rebar, he put rebar in for two of 6 beams, not to spec, and he did not do re-bar across the top. I have photos showing the depth that he backfilled to and photos of the width of his beams, neither of which were "according to the plans". I sent photos of the work that he had done to the civil engineering firm that designed the foundation and the told me what was wrong and I relayed the information to [redacted] Everytime I requested that he fix something he quickly responded that "this is how [he] always did it and it [wasn't] going anywhere". If that's the case, he's cheated a lot of people out of a lot of money and quality concrete. I had the funds to complete the project and did in fact complete it on my own. Everytime I've tried to contact him for a list of his expenses he hasn't responded. I maintain my claim that he did not spend anywhere near what he claims he did on materials and that is why he is unable to (and has yet to) produce a list of expenses. All of my complaints were about things that they did not do: dig the beams to depth, dig the beams full width, level the forms, drill holes in the existing slab to the spec of the engineer. He probably pours a fine fence post, but he either can't read engineering plans or refuses to comply with them because he thinks he knows better. All I asked for was that he build the foundation to the plans the way he had quoted but after the second day when I came home for lunch and he wasn't there and said that he was done and ready to pour the concrete, I decided to cut my losses and just want to warn all other people about him. He is not true to his word and he does not view people as the client. He said that I acted as the "contractor" when in fact I just acted as the "client", the one paying to have everything done as was promised. He was incapable of doing such.
