This is NOT a legitimate companyEd K [redacted] came to my home on charged me $and claims my washer needs a new motor and my dryer needs a new thermostat which he can have on Friday 815.He came charged me $and said I would have the bill online in about minutes.Of course it never came and I tried to use my washer that afternoon and it was still smoking like it did before his alleged repair.He finally replied that he would be back on Saturday but he never showed and has not replied to numerous calls or emails.He cashed my check the same day so I couldn't even stop payment.He is a LIAR and a THIEF and I would NEVER recommend him to anyone.He has lied and cheated many people but I am going to try to stop him NOW

Contractors, LLC has a reputation for scamming people out of a service fee in the same manner as they did to me. I am hopeful that this complaint will be made public and help prevent others from falling victim to this dishonest company. Sincerely,

Affordable contractors, LLC is not a legitimate appliance repair company...The technical came to my home to address a washer repair problem, attempted to diagnose the problem and never followed up on ordering the part necessary to repair the washer... Affordable Contractors, LLC never returned our call, deposited our check for the initial visit... Had a phony answering service that never addressed resolving our complaint. The following week, had a certified GE technician fix our washer and indicated the original diagnosis by Affordable contractor, LLC was not valid...Basically a scan artist and should not be licensed to serve customers in the NY and NJ area.

Review: Called Affordable Contractors and Appliance Repair for service on our refrigerator and Ed K[redacted] showed up.

He charged $91.91 for the service call, came back, allegedly installed a compressor and was paid $265.58. The refrigerator still does not work. He missed (2) separate appointments to come back and called and said his car and phone broke down. That is the last we have heard from him and are unable to get in touch with him.Desired Settlement: I am demanding a refund in the amount of $357.49. All indications to track down this business, and it's owner have failed and it appears to be a fraudulent company. If I do not receive a full refund I will be in contact with the State Attorney Generals Office as well as the Internal Revenue Service in regards to this individual.

Review: [redacted] of Affordable Contractors, came to our house to repair our refrigerator and dishwasher. He spent an hour checking both and explained the problem and his solution, which was to order parts. He charged us $150 for the service call and said he would be back within a few days to install the parts. He never showed up, when we called he didn't return calls but emailed us that there was a family emergency and he had to leave town. He no longer returns calls or emails.Desired Settlement: If he will not repair our appliances, we want our money back for the service call.

Review: We contacted Affordable Contractors for washer and dryer repair.Ed K[redacted] the owner came on 8/**/15 and said I needed a thermostat for the dryer and a new motor for the washer and would return on Friday,8/**/15 to do the repair;he did come and said all was done and if any problems,call him.I tried to do laundry and the washer was still smoking as it did before so I called him and sent emails numerous times.To date he has not replied except to say he sent the money but he didn't.He charged $95 for the service call and $205.59 for the repair he never did.He did cash my checks and I went to the address he lists on his website but the woman there does not know Mr K[redacted] and there is no sign for his business there.His phone number on his business card is working and I have called and left numerous messages but Mr K[redacted] refuses to contact me and refund my money.I have since bought a new washer and dryer since I had to call another repairman and Mr K[redacted]'s diagnosis was incorrect and he never did the repair he charged me for.He had a woman call me on 9/*/15 and the caller id said Carol W[redacted] ###-###-#### and tell me he sent me a moneygram to refund my money but of coarse the money never came.Then a woman,Angela from that number called me and now when you call that number is disconnected.Desired Settlement: I want my money back since he did not do any repair and he is not a repairman at all.

A friend of the business owner,contacted me and has made full restitution of the $300.I did not hear from the business owner,Ed K[redacted] of Affordable Contractors,LLC but I am satisfied with the resolution.I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. I do however,wish to leave the complaint on file so others may not be scammed by this person.
