Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/11/27) */
If we are going to address a complaint that I received from [redacted], I would like to address the actual complaint. [redacted] called to inform me that she felt the project at her rental did not look finished. At the beginning of the conversation, her...

two issues were the caissons were up in the air, and that there was no soffit material applied to her patio cover and carport. I explained to her that the caissons had to be above grade. The reason was so that the posts would not rot. I then explained that she was not charged to put soffit under the structure. [redacted] told me that she physically took [redacted] (Affordable Garages salesmen)next door to look at the neighbors construction. [redacted] informed me that he never left the property. Regardless, [redacted] was not charged, I told her that I would perform the extra work at a very fair price. In fact, I told her that I would do it at my cost. [redacted] told me that she should not have to pay, and "I should do the right thing, and do it for free." (Yes), that is what she said, she was not charged, it was NOT on the contract. Also, when we did her first project at her residence, the contract had T111 siding. In the middle of the project after the T111 was applied, she told me she was suppose to have lap siding. Again, she paid for one thing and wanted something more expensive that was different from the signed contract. The first time at her residence I did the work that she asked for, and paid for it out of my own pocket. The second time shows a pattern. When she continued to argue with me, I finally told her "You are rude and out of line." "Let me put it to you this way [redacted], I look at it as though you want me to take food off my daughter and wife's table and give it to you." Does that seem fair? She then asked if I would accept the finished project at her rental. I told her "I would not live there." In short I have my own house, so why would I live there. She took it wrong, and I was so upset with the way she was talking to me I did not explain myself. She expected me to pay for her and continued to tell me how she was right, over and over and over again... When she told me that the painting was not all done, I offered to send my painter out. She said no to that, so I offered to send her money back for the unfinished painting. She told me she would rather have it painted herself and did not want any money back. Where is my venue to complain about homeowners that feel entitled. She did this twice to me, the second time I put my foot down. This has been very stressful and has taken quite a bit of time to respond. I have been in business 22 years and my success rate is extremely high. I wish this would not have happened, but there is no pleasing some people.
